Pat, what is the tunnel? You should go! That will be fun. That is right after I leave. There is another mom going to HI around that time!

Marie, I was planning on sunrise! What could be better then seeing the sunrise in Hawaii? That is definitely on my agenda. The Aloha Statium is also on our list. I'm so glad you had a great time! I thinking saying goodbye will be the hardest.

So, are you going back to HI that weekend? We'll be there on the 29th.

Dawn-I see that you are preparing for your trip. I just returned from a wonderful visit with my son. The best thing that we did while I was there was snorkeling in Hanauma Bay. If you are interested in doing this, you need to get there first thing in the morning because the parking lot fills up fast. I heard someone mention that you need to be there about 7:30 in order to get a spot. We got there around noon when some people were leaving. They would open the lot when they had a dozen or so spots and then close as soon as the cars came in. We were very fortunate not to have to wait but for about 10 minutes to get in. It costs $1 for parking and $5 for admission (free for military who are stationed on the island). While there, you can rent scuba equipment or bring your own. We absolutely had a blast. I would recommend the Swap Meet at the Oloha Stadium. I spent a morning there while my son was at work. Hope this helps. Marie

She is the winner of Miss Aloha Hula (solo) from Thu night. Her kumu hula (hula teacher) is Kealii Reichel who is a very famous singer/song writer and his songs are on my playlist on my page.

Oh geez....I just woke up and it is already noon. lol I've been watching Merrie Monarch (biggest hula competition at Hilo, HI) Thu night and last night online. It's from 6pm ro 11pm Hilo time so it's 11pm to 4am here in IL time. My friend is there right now with my hula teacher from Oahu so they called me during the competition.

Tonight is the last night, Auana (modern hula) starts from 5:30. I can almost feel the warm air and smell the beautiful flowers just watching this. I miss HAWAII!!

Around 5:30pm HI time, there will be a link appear to watch live TV right around where it says "Merrie Monarch Festival Ends Saturday Night" in upper part of the page.

Great pictures Judy - I can't wait to go.

Lynda - Aaron's girl is not sure what she is going to do. I know she wants to go to school. I don't think she planned on a long term career but who knows - I think some of it will changed based on what happens with her and Aaron.

Heather - sorry - I know its alot - things will work out. Just tell him you were having a bad day. Its is hard when you can't see eachother and all your conversations are over the phone or email. Aaron is finding that out with his girlfriend. She reads stuff into things when it's nothing and if he has a bad day she thinks its something she did...... hang in there - it will get better.

Hey Heather, Just let your son know that you love him and was just having a bad day. Tell him to just get those "fish". All moms go through this I think. I know I do. Sometimes the boys talk to dad more and never want to say anything to mom. Moms think differently and guys just don't get it!!

My DH just returned from Hawaii visiting our son. He ships out soon.He had a great time visiting the Arizona, Missiour, Bowfin. Of course he went to wakakii and honolulu and the north shore to see the waves and the Dole plant. He also got to go on the sub that my son serves on. He said is was soooo small. He is on a fast attack sub. No comfort features! Can't wait to go there myself.
