Hi Marie, My son has been in HI since June '08, he is an SK in Pearl Harbor, with the SEAL Delivery Team, provding supplies for SEALs. He just moved into a condo in Ewa Beach in early December with a non- Navy roomate. He should land in about 1 1/2 hours, temps. are around 79 degrees at the airport, a big difference from cold, snowy, dreary NJ. I take it your son Steven is on a ship in HI? Lynda

Lynda-That sounds lovely. I can't wait to see the pictures...What/where will Aaron be in HI? If you have posted before, be patient sometimes there are so many posts to sort through it is easier just to ask again. lol hope he has a great flight. The weather there is great; that is Steven's response every time I ask. haha. Marie

Hi HIMoms, Well, Aaron left for HI on a 5AM flight this AM, with two layovers. He is on his final flight now from Houston to Honolulu, he should arrive around 4:30PM HI time. It has been very hectic, so it will take me a week to clean up after him! His best friend just became an officer in the Marine's, and they have what a ceremony that they call "First Salute", usually done with a commanding officer, but in his case he picked Aaron. Aaron spent alot of time preparing his dress blues so they would be perfect including getting white gloves and actual medals on ribbons instead of the bars. He looked fantastic. We and the Marine's Mom took pictures of the salute and I'll post when my Husband goes through them. After the slaute they do a handshake and the marine passed my son a silver dollar in a velvet pouch as a keepsake. It was sooo touching. Lynda

It is good when the friends don't forget them!
I went through kayak.com. Then, found the cheapest on expedia, beleive it or not! It was about 200 cheaper then any other flight. I even paid $14 extra for the lei greeting, in case daughter forgets! LOL. I will fly PNS to ATL to SEA to HNL.

Aaron has another cold and had to work duty on New Year's but I got a call at 12. He woke me up (I'm getting old -haha) I would have totally missed it! He said he was happy because he got about 20 text messages from all his friends back home.

Aloha! Just 6 more days until Meaghan gets to HI! The other day, I booked my flight there in May. I am so excited! Happy 2009 to everyone!
