Congrats to Meaghan and Joseph!
Rhonda, we flew from the East Coast last summer on a non-stop to see our son and go on a cruise. the flight was 10 hours, plus an we were delayed an hour so that made it 11 hours sitting on a plane. I was stir crazy, but once you get to the is;and it is all worth it. But, I would never do a nonstop again, I would defintely want a lay over. Good luck.

I am making my first trip to Hawaii in about 3 weeks. I don't know how I will feel about a long flight. My longest was 3 hours until now I just need to be able to stretch my legs and hips now and then. Also my flight from Houston to Hawaii is 8 hours.

I don't mind riding on planes at all. I thought I would be afraid because I have a fear of heights, but it just doesn't feel like that at all.

I made my first flight to visit my fiancee who was living in a different state why we were engaged. Flew by myself and loved it. And now.....29 years later.....he was definitely worth it!

Just thought I would share that my son, stationed at kaneohe bay, just made 3rd class Petty Officer(E4). He has been in just a little over a year, and I am very proud of his accomplishments!

Wow - Kasie, your first experience on a plane ...you sure did pick a flight!! But just keep thinking of how beautiful it will be when you land :-)

There just is no short trips to Hawaii - are there???

Hi Kasie, welcome to the group. Are you moving to base housing or a rental? I live in Philadelphia and it is a long flight. Hopefully you have a layover 1/2 way. My last time there I took the Red Eye from Honolulu to Newark, NJ..........long long night.
