How do I sign up for adopt a sailor. We live about an hour from GL. My left for boot camp on 11/25, will he be able to leave for Christmas day if we adopt him. Any answers would be appreciated. Missing him terribly. Thanks.

I would like to thank the Kemp Family for adopting my daughter on Thanksgiving! She said it was the most fun she has ever had at someone else house!!!

Hello - any sailors at Great Lakes who will be off over New Years weekend? We are having a late Christmas as my son will be coming home Dec. 30th and I'd love to have a sailor or two join us! We are in the Milwaukee area and would be happy to go and pick them up and bring them back.

Karen, I didn't want you to miss out on the opportunity. Sometimes I fear I am sticking my nose in, but we have enjoyed other Mom's Sailors so much when we go somewhere with Chris and take them along that I didn't want you to not have that experience. Glad it worked out...and yes, hand me a Kleenex as well! (smile, smile)

I think every child, boy or girl, should have to go through bootcamp after high school just because it causes instant maturity. You send them a boy and they give you back a man. It's amazing!

Jill-- Isn't it amazing to be able to watch your son transition from your little boy to a full grown man in a matter of a few weeks at boot camp?( seems much longer) But, when someone else notices, you get this feeling that is indescribable......... Welcome to a life of Kleenex...LOL

Ruth, Thanks for watching out for the rest of us I probably wouldn't have caught it if it weren't for you!!!!!

Hope everyone had a Great Thanksgiving!!!!!!
