Navy For Moms

We just got our baby Reagan back home. 15 days with the trainer and her mom and dad took him out on trail rides during that time. They just loved him. We do too.

What a cute appy. I must say I'm partial to them CCR. Have fun!

BEAUTIFUL! Someone just told me today how stubborn appy's are, but I would have to disagree just by the pictures

My daughter prefers to ride bareback, his gait is so smooth and easy.

I'm envious of the gorgeous mane and tail. apps arn't known for that - they were bred by the Nez Perce for endurance, strong sturdy hooves, sloping croups, etc. Didn't want the manes and tails getting caught in the brush so they culled and selective bred to get what they wanted. So when I have one that has a longer mane and tail, its rare.

Not a typical horse picture, but he was so happy! Couldn't help but love this picture of Slater!

Lucky girl, to be able to ride bareback! I'd love to still have those muscles - after my hysterectomy, oh well, you know. Plus, I have told my husband he better hurry and put a bathroom in the barn, I don't make it to the house anymore, tee hee.

Isn't that the truth! HAHAHA!

Are these Angel Wings????

This is her mother Gables Bright Bars. We call her Champagne because it looks like a bottle of Champagne burst on her coat. We imprinted the baby yesterday and will do again for the next 2 days to make sure it takes. I stay out with them during the day while I garden and keep close to get them accustomed to me. They are so gentled. Valorie, its not unusual to hear that, I hear even stranger things about them. But, its like any breed or any race of people, you can generalize about all of them, but it all comes back to their training, I believe. My farrier (ex-military) says the only time he's been in the emergency room it was caused by QH's. My new farrier who has TN Walkers says he won't take on any clients who have Peppy in their bloodlines. etc. etc. Everyone has perceptions, even my vets have their opinions about different breeds. I am glad I could contribute positively to their education!!! LOL
