We must pray every ay for the safety of all our service men and women, especially those in places of heavy turmoil. My son is currently at A school in San Antonio, but we don't know where his first deployment will be. I hope that all citizens around the United States are praying for those that have put their lives on the line.

Dear Maggie, Please know that this Illinois family will be praying for you and Stephen. I sincerely hope that the support you receive from your friends at N4M's will help ease the burden a little. Pat

Hello,

I am also new to this site -- found it quite by accident, but I'm glad I did. I've enjoyed reading about other moms and share and understand their concerns and love for their children. My son-in-law is in the Navy, currently in New London, CT, but will be moving soon to Charleston, SC. He's married to my oldest daughter and it's hard having them so far away from home. We try to make the most of the time we can share with them either with phone calls or web cam -- we had a "remote" Christmas last month. Although it wasn't the same as being able to share hugs, it was great to see the smiles and watch them open their gifts.

We are very proud of our son-in-law -- he's received a promotion and other awards -- and he takes pride in serving in the Navy. Our daughter is a proud (and patient) Navy wife. She makes new friends wherever they are stationed and always has a good support group around her. We're looking forward to making a trip in the spring to see both of them.

GO NAVY!

My son is also stationed in Norfolk, Va and has been out to see since mid September. I am preparing for his homecoming. My prayers are with you - being deployed is tough on the family. What got me through was remembering that he chose this career, and that he has had great training for the job that he does. Of course being able to talk through email and the occasional phone call has been a great blessing. You will get through this - I didn't think I would but have managed to so far and it won't be long now till I am albe to put my arms around my sailor and told him for the first time in what seems like an eternity.
