David, Indy 500 at 1:00 a.m. LOL.
When I went to Japan, I couldn't adjust to the time. I had the weekend to adjust before going to work Monday morning. I was nervous about not sleeping until I realized it was almost 3:00 a.m. and the NFL games where about to start.

Good Day,
Happy Birthday David. I know with him not there - celebrating his birthday pulls on your heart strings, but so glad he called to share is happiness with you. Hope he sends you a copy of his birthday picture. Becky - adding my positive thoughts for you to soon to hear from your son. And that he is feeling better. Sending you a hug too. Everyone - a wish for a good day. T-Lynn

Today is my Japan Navy Corpsman son's birthday...24 on the 24th. He celebrated with a few other sailors over dinner at an Outback Steakhouse where the restaurant staff sang him happy birthday...took his picture with his friends...and gave him a photo that said, Happy Birthday David. David's been in Japan three weeks and felt like home for him to have his birthday dinner at an Outback. He said they'd never take his photo and give him a copy at any restaurants in the US. He plans to continue to celebrate his birthday by watching the Indy 500, which will begin at 1:00 AM!

Becky yes my son too has an I phone, he could not take his cell phone he had here because they said it would not work there. We do not have skype but a lot do, our calls are only 1 cent more a minute than to any where in the US so it does not hurt us. Good luck and let us know when he has arrived.

Lydia I am sure she would not mind but I will ask her if it is ok to email you her email address. She is wanting to come home to TX but it costs so much to fly so I am not sure if she can. Have a great weekend.

My son told me that there are free phone calls to the U.S. at the USO

Hi Everyone!
Becky please let us all know that your son arrives ok and that he too - is feeling better. I am feeling so much better. I open my email to four messages from my son! And he sent pictures! Have not seen a him since last Novemeber 08. He's not my baby - he now looks like a Navy Sailor on a Recruiting Poster! He is all muscle and smile. He wrote that he was on beach in Bali and a girl come up to him and asked him for his picture. So he said - OK and then 8 other girls ran up for a picture with him. He was shocked. Now I wasn't shocked, I know he is good looking. ( And this site ONLY has the best looking sailors in the entire Navy! ) It was so good to see his face. I sat at the computer and cried - how silly of me. I teared up and couldn't see the pictures. Need to run some errands - everyone have a wonderful weekend. ANd I know we will never forget those who this weekend honors. Blessing to all T-Lynn :)

Becky...if he didn't bring his cell phone he should just buy a phone card when he arrives. My son flew to Japan three weeks ago and bought an I-Phone a few days after he arrived in Japan and loves it. He said everyone has I-Phones in Japan. He bought a Skype number, so all we do is dial a local telephone number here in Indiana and the call goes either to his laptop or I-Phone wherever he might be. Its really nice and we communicate more with him now in Japan than when he was away to college for four years!
