Hope your sailor does well on his test, T-Lynn, But surely you know advancement is more than passing the test, points and awards and evals, even taking the exam last time gives him points! And time in rate ... it gets soooo complicated. And LOL, the test is in various versions, you never take the exact exam twice!

So how is everyone? I have a new netbook and I'm not used to it yet. All the keys are slightly different places and I have to wear my readers. The touchpad is different, drives me nuts. I do have a webcam now!

I enjoye d the picture too Mark - your sons are very hansome - must take after their mom . And you too :)

Carol - thank you for the wish of a good me day. I did get to read and journal a bit.
My hubby and I print out ariticles off the computer - so I was catching up with the pile we have. And then at times I did nothing. Actaully felt good.
Hope all of you make a Me Day for yourselves too. Gives a peace that is nice.

Here - still overcast. But oh - did we have a fog this morning. It was dense. And the birds were singing so loudly - guess they were trying to find each other.
Mom keeps saying it is going to rain. I have not seen that yet on the forecast. I just saw that we are to get to the uppper 50's :) But the turtle is acting a little strange. She just wants to hide under all her blankets again. I tried to hold her, but no way - she wanted under the sofa and under two layers of blankets. Folks - I think there is more than just a rain coming. What are any of your pets doing?

Other gossip here:
1. Oldest son and girl friend are going to the Scince and Industry this coming Friday. They are going to see the opening show of" Storm Chasers" Funny - they can just stay here and watch out the front window if my turtle is right with the weather that is coming.
2. My mom really likes his new girl friend. Mom actaully asked him if he has purchased an engagement ring yet. He told her no - they have only dated for 3 months. I'm waiting for her to take him shopping for one! Let you know when that happens
3. my sailor emailed that his ship is off again to another port . ANd oh - how humid the weather is. Keep your fingers crossed - he takes the test for E5 this week. This is the same test he took in November and missed two questions so he was not promoted to E5. Bet he gets those questions right this time.
4. I have to figure out something for dinner. I am so proud of my fmaily - they ate all the left overs :).

Ok - I chewed everyone's ear - come on all - I'm in the need for gossip.
Hugs TLynn

Dear Giosmom,
When you go to work tomorrow - you take along:
2 boxes of kleenexes
candy that is for ONLY you to have
picture of you son
something of his to hold
AND - when you feel like crying - do.

It is alright for you do so. And if your boss has a problem - email us and we all will show up!

On this site - we do know how you feel - we have been there. And we all still have days of suddenly bursting into tears. Those few items I suggested - they helped me.
I HAVE boxes of kleenex all around the house so I can get to one when needed. I have my favorite Dark Chocoalte Dove Bites ( Chocoalte make every thing better. But if you ask NDN and NDJ - they will differ and tell you its a grilled hamburger and a beer) I have my son's pictures placed so I see him everyday. And I have a small Beany Baby Panda that was his. And at times I hold it and even sleep with it. WE all have ways to deal with that sudden lost feeling.

So it ok to cry. And keep messaging us - hugging you TLynn

So that's why I don't have any laundry :) Thanks Kim.

NDM - Sandra Bullock is an awesome donw to earth actress. She would fit in here great. hey wouldn't that be a great idea for a movie all ! Just look at all the stories that we have shared - they would be great scenes in a movie. And for real - NDM - your look alike could play you :) ( for the new moms - that would be George Clooney )
Oh - any email or phone call from you son yet? Just wanting to see your words that he is safe.

I hope he gets to come home Galye first. -- It would be nice for you to collect hugs and for you son to get some persoanl items to take. ANd that pass port.

Two girlfriends?! Sorry about teh break up of the first, but he learn her true nature. Keep usposted on teh second one - now I have a good gut feeling about her.

Ok I am off for a while - I am having a Me Day. Plenty of left over - so no cooking
Kim invited in the Laundry Fairy - so no laundry
Hubby and oldest at work - Mom is reating and turtle is happy
So time for me to read - eat snacks - watch a movie - write in my journal, etc.

Wish all of you a great day too. Hugs TLynn

Navy Dad Mark....I know just how you feel....so glad you had a great visit with your son....NAVY ON!

I always watch the flight. Aren't computers great.

Claudia, thanks for the info on the passport. I still can't talk my son into getting his. He was afraid to fly through Korea or China because he didn't have his.

My son was told to not fly in uniform in or out of the USA because it makes them a target. But they told him to carry his uniform to Japan. They MUST arrive in uniform. I went to Japan on business last year for the Navy. We consultants don't get sponsors to great us. We where told to find the DOD (department of defense) booth. They are at Narita. They will show you how to get to base if the sponsor does not meet them.

T-Lynn, son number two arrived tonight. Actually I picked him up. It looks like 5-6 loads of laundry. You can have the laundry fairy back any time. I had this conversation with Gayle privately. I hope you don't mind Gayle. My son #2 and her son #1 go to the same university. It looks like a ghost town tonight. Jonathan was home over New Years and spent a couple of days up there. They might have met. We had to give him moral support last Sunday during the hockey game. We where coming up anyways and tried to time it when the game ended (LOL, overtime). He is a bartender at the popular college bar and he was the only Canadian fan, I brought Jonathan's really silly Canadian hat in the shape of a red maple leaf. Too funny.

Japanese girlfriend: Yep, my son too. I asked him if it was serious and he said I do not know. We have exchanged a few emails and she seems nice. Who knows.

See Gayle - how great this site is!
One question - does your son has his pass port?
There was a aost decussion about having one now. I beleive Carol - Anit M adn NDM adn NDJ talked about the reasons for needed one.

I always ask NDM about sitting at the gate - my hubby adn I were unaware of that being even possible. Our son would have loved it - we would have had a breakfast together. But so glad you respect your son's wishes. Let us know when that email arrives please.

Watching the Oscars - I think UP just won.
take care all TLynn

And you will be checking the computer for those last 3000 miles too. :) I hope he calls the moment he arrives - so your heart and your wife's will be at ease.
Hope you both were able to sit at the gate with him.
