Hubby goes to Vegas often, he hauls steel down there. he's restricted to where he can park, so that restricts where he wants to go. I've been with him several times. We sleep in the truck, and he's often right off the Strip or Fremont. He doesn't like slots, so no, he doesn't gamble. I like blackjack, but not a lot. Food is expensive down there! And all the girls in Coyote Ugly know him as Moses (for his beard), they let him in without the cover charge or standing in line. LOL. Figures he knows the name of all the girls... and I've met them all.

I haven't flown the grand Canyon, but I've been to both North and South Rims. Amazing. Every American should try to go see it, as well as Yellowstone.

Vegas !!!!!
I've heard that Vegas really celebrates Halloween. And does your hubby play that big million dolllar slot machine? I've always wanted to do that. I bet Navy Dad knows all the great places to eat and get the best hamgurger there too. TLynn

My nuke has a b-day on Halloween. I sent a package, but he hasn't called. LOL, guys. I just have to assume he got it.

I have most of the Halloween stuff down, but can't reach some of it, have to wait until hubby is back from Vegas tonight.

HI Everyone.
Did you all set your clocks back? Daniella, listen to these good ladies - they are stirring you right. You have to trust yourself. Then you will know how to trust others. Welcome to this site :). Did everyone have a good Halloween? WE did :). Even Mom really got into the swing of things. She wore all her Halloween clothing and looked so fine in her black and white art deco style witch's hat. Even though it was between cool and down right cold out - she would come out and greet the trick or treaters - esopeically when they wanted to wish her happy birthday. And the 89th trick or treater recieved a pound bag of M & Ms. Oh was that kid in shock :) Mom turned 89 this year and the child who matches her birthday number receives something speical. Next year Mom wil be 90 and I told her I actaully found a Hersey candy bar in the shape of a tombstone. It's huge and she wants me to get that for next year. AS so now - all Halloween decoatations are down and Thanksgiving is up. Mom is busy making an apple spice cake and re-arranging all the flowers she received for her birthday. Me - I am out of the way - in my romm and gossipping with you . No plans for a Thanksgving dinner yet. I have to get a package out to my sailor. And I already emailed him - he turns 29 tomorrow. Having one of those - miss my sailor day. So I'm going to go and hug his stuff panda, hold our pet turtle and watch a movie. Everyone have a great day . TLynn

No one said you were any less of a person for worrying.

"base pay" not vase pay, sorry.

Butterfly, they can save up to 60 days before they start to lose earned days. With a letter from the command stating they have been essential and not allowed to take leave, they can keep more days longer. While there may be long stretches when they simply can't take leave, three years seems excessive. His ship must really need him? And although expensive, they make enough to afford the trip. In addition to their vase pay, Nukes get sea pay (if on a ship). Does he say why he's not be granted leave?

Daniella, yes, alcohol is served, but the Navy is also very strict about things such as taxis. He must be 21 to drink. He's an adult, he gets to decide if he goes or not, sorry, girlfriend. As for the Navy girls... I am insulted. I used to be in the Navy, and I didn't go around stealing men. These are professionals women he is working with, and he will for years. If temptation is there, it is up to him to resist it. Being controlling from a long distance is a sure way to make him less interested in getting married. Show you trust him to make the right decisions, no matter if he attends or not.

They get 30 days of leave a year. Some of the sailors that were sent to Japan for 3 years this past April are coming home at Christmas, so not sure why you son hasn't been home.

Hi All :)
I'm going to be off the site for a couple of days. Much going on here.
1st. Mom will be 89 on Halloween. So busy with pies - cakes and cookies and then trick or treaters.
2nd. My mother was just told today - she has a non agressive form of cancer in the uterus. She is seeing a speicalist on November 4th and we will know then what will take place. She is in good spritis. ( No pun for the holiday)
3rd - I'm going to need a day of rest after all my crank duty. So I'll talk again on Monday - by then I should have great gossip from Mom's birthday.
Catch a falling Autumn leaf on Halloween night- and prosperity will come to your home all year long :) Good luck catching a Leaf! And wishing you a very Happy Halloween Hugs!! TLynn
