We are a group of local people in GL who wants to help parents (and spouses) who have their sailors and recruits in VA hospital. Kokua (Hawaiian) Help, aid, assistance, relief, assistant.

Ok this is my sons Andrea she is now here and can see the help offers and I konw she will now be posting her help requests as she knows better than i what she needs. I will of course follow along.

Thanks I am emailing Andrea all responces that I am getting. She is on Navy for Wifes (I think that is what she says it is called) but so far nothing so I am hoping she joins this one or the Ill navy for moms as I thinks she will get a better responce from here.

Hi becky :)

Ship 5(Former ship 17 which holds people who is getting discharged from the Navy and other fews) is just like any other ship. Nobody is allowed to visit anyone there.

You can visit a recruit only if they are hospitalized at VA hospital which is off base. And we'll be glad to do that :)

Hi do you know if someone's child is on ship 5 if they ae allowed visitors??
I have a mom asking me to go and visit her daughter on ship 5. I am a new
Navy mom and not sure about this... Thanks
