Our recruiter told us we would get the address within 72 hrs. We called the recruiter today and he was able to call Great Lakes and get the information for us. A friends of my sons went in and his family didn't know about that. He didn't have any contact with family for three weeks until he called them and gave them the address himself...how sad. I am so glad for this website otherwise that could have been my son waiting to hear from us!!!

Karen - there was no address our box. Ari's recruiter sent me an email with it yesterday, I think that is the only way you can get it other than waiting for the form letter. Sorry!!!

I couldn't believe how big the box was. It was wonderful to see her handwriting and the quick note on the inside of the box!

We got the box today too, I am at work but my mom called to tell me it had arrived, I am hoping to know what ship he is on as well. Maybe I will call her and have her open it!

Not yet, Janet. Hopin to get my box today since it seems like many of you did. At work right now, but when I get home I'll check the mail. If, not, I'll be calling the recruiter on Monday. :-)

We got the box today, they didn't let her keep much of anything but she knew it was a risk. My husband got it, opened it and called me at the office to talk me through it. I was a bit bummed because I have read about some kids leaving notes inside...my hubs said no. Then, just as he was getting ready to throw the box away he said "WAIT, she wrote something on the inside of the box..."LOVE YOU!". I think I am going to take it to Hobby Lobby this weekend and have it framed! Ari Ship 14 Div 098, have not found anyone else with that division...still looking though!

JB's Mom same ship, different division. I was glad my husband got the box today so I didn't have to open it last night while he was at the firehouse...don't know if I could have done it by myself!

My son shipped out for boot camp on Tuesday from Maryland. My daughter-in-law got "the box" today. We both had a good cry. We also called his recruiter and was able to get his address today so we are ready to get our letters out tomorrow! He's Ship 014 Div 092....anyone else out there with the same?

Karen, They very likely will be on the same ship. I was talking to one of his recruiters at MEPS and she said that everyone on the same flight usually ends up on the same Div., maybe same ship. Robert sounded tired but happy.

My son left on Tuesday as well, have been so busy at work I haven't been able to get on here. Teri our sons must have flown together as I got my I'm here call at about 11:11 our time, so 1:11 Central. Can't wait for the letter! My first one to leave. He didn't want us to go down to Sac for the swearing in and I still feel a little guilty, but with a new job it is hard to keep asking ofr time off! Maybe they will be on the same ship! Keep wondering what they are doing!
