We are also known as the Warm & Fuzzie Obama Mamas - and are proud to support our president! Agnostic - Humanist - Atheist - Jewish - Buddhist - Democratic - Independent - Christian - Deist - searching .....all peaceful peeps are welcome!

When you have achieved an open mind you can then open your heart to humanity. Commit charitable acts, volunteer, help those who cannot help themselves. Look around you and see the world as it is and do your part to make it better. Establish the values of great people who have wandered down this very same road before you. Begin where they left off, build a better world for those to follow you or teach them how to journey down their own path.

An open mind equals an open heart which ultimately leads to world peace.

Kephen Merancis

If by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal." ~ John F. Kennedy

TK Trevor's Mom: Interesting about John Scalzi's post! A while ago I started following him on Twitter (can't remember why...) and I check out his blog now and then. I recently read his sci-fi trilogy and I liked them a lot. I'm not a die-hard sci-fi fan (most is very cheesy) but his story line is intriguing and also quite humorous. So I was intrigued by this post about Fox (Faux!) News.

Rachel Maddow's take on Fox is that it's not "news" because they promote and ORGANIZE anti-government (teabagger) protests. She asserts that networks have a right to opinions (she cited Walter Cronkite's anti-Viet Nam commentary back in the '60s, among several others, that don't diminish the respect of the news person or the network), but when a network actually organizes anti-government protests, then there is no way they can be considered a credible news network.

Religion comes up in support groups, too. I also saw that there was a fan group on facebook to keep "Christ" in Christmas. It's taken me a long time, but I finally always refer to this time of year as the "holiday season." I called it that once in a bereavement group when I was a facilitator and one of the other facilitators mouthed the words, "thank you." It turns out he's Jewish and they celebrate this time of year, too. I think it's important to remember that.
