Both of you are right, Lori and Diane.... which is why I removed my earlier post...and alot of our reaction was due I'm sure to all the hours and hours of hard work we put into this already. It's all behind us though and we are going forward from here to figure out a different way to channel our efforts! ;o)

I agree with Lori -- take the family out of the equation. Grief sometimes causes people to react in ways that they normally wouldn't. I'm sure everything just got taken the wrong way and with their heightened feelings at this point, was just received wrong.

Hey guys.... I removed my original post from this morning.... it was the truth... it's how it happened.... but I don't want it to seem as though I was dragging this grieving family through the dirt....and quite frankly... it could be taken that way. It is what it is.... and we are truly saddened that they will not allow us to continue forward with such a compassionate gesture of love and gratitude that we felt compelled to share with the community.

Will be in touch soon with a date where we can all get together to come up with a new game plan to put our efforts towards.... we know where the need is.... and we aren't about to give up... we just have to find a different way!

I am so sorry to hear all this. Maybe we would be better off just having a benefit for all the sailors out there who can't be home for the holidays or anytime. I know in a time of grief things can get all mixed up and a person isn't thinking straight. Lets take them and that whole situation out of the equation and try and do something for our sailors and all that serve with them.

Hey Ladies.... I have some good news and some bad news.... the good news is that we don't have to meet up tonight!!!!! The bad news.... we had to put the fund raiser "on hold" with the possibility of canceling it completely! I will get back to you all when I know more!

It is all I've been thinking about too...even asking at work for ideas as to where to get donations. Will need a head count for hoodies, and of course,sizes. WOW....I'M SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!
Jules---I am in class till 645 tom eve,but can come after. Let me know final details!!!

I had an idea...going to have a NEW "US NAVY MOM" hoodie made to wear that day. Since I have lost 40 lbs (woohoo!!!), my other one is kind of big! I get them made at Jamies...cost is about $15. Anyone else who may want one, let me know. Think I am going to have it made on a bright yellow hoodie...that way it stands out,haha!!! Jules,let me know about meeting up...I'm there! Can't wait to see what comes next!

Jules -- what a wonderful idea! I would like to donate at least one Stamping basket (I have a bunch of new stamps, ink pads, paper etc that would make a nice gift basket (or two)! Also, my husband and I ride and would love to ride in this. We don't have a Harley tho ... this isn't exclusive Harley riders tho right?
