Hope everyone has had a good Thanksgiving. I'm with my son at my dad's and we are having a wonderful visit. My dad is in rehab after breaking his hip and is doing ok so far. We have so much to be thankful for. Welcome to the new moms!!!

Garda, you just brought me back to Jan 2008, and there was NOT a NFM back then. I didn't know about the box. It arrived. I opened it up, and it looked like my son stood in the box and evaporated. I found out later that they had 3 minutes to undress, seal and address the box. So there wasn't a note in the pockets. The form letter has an incredible reaction. Just a form letter, but there is a place about 3 lines in your sons own handwriting that tells you he is ok. Oh yeah, there is a important address, but you know that he is ok. That was the beginning of what my husband calls stalking the mailman. My son said he had to do 20 pushups for each letter, so I would stick a few together. My sons were talking at last nights dinner thanking me for not sending them musical cards for their birthdays and calling extra attention to them.

I just received this in my email. Please go to this site and pass this on. I posted this in a forum and sent to my groups and to all my N4M's please pass on to as many as you can.

XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING NICE!

If you go to this web site,www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the Armed Services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them.

This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you. Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others to do. We can never say enough thank you's.

Thanks for taking to time to support our military!

Taylor and Lacy, welcome to Louisana moms. I wonder if your husband and lacy's son will be on the same bootcamp trip. Make sure you join Bootcamp moms also. And when you get that address in 2 weeks, and get a graduation date, you will join another group of families that are in bootcamp at the same time. Then the day before graduation (PIR) the families meet for dinner in Great Lakes. Those friendships last a while. That is where I met Molly.

My husband also recently left. He left on 11/18/09 for bootcamp and I'm already having a hard time learning how to handle him not being here I feel as though I've lost my crutch and person I can depend on. I like lacy am also happy that they have a local group.

Congratulations on your son's graduation! sunskyz .....i remember that day still so vividly for mine. The hall was packed! Today i am sitting at home sad at the loss of one....and wishing i could be in NY for the commissioning of my son's ship. Next week is really going to be tough. I had plans to be there, but....guess God had other plans for me and maybe someone day i will understand why.

My thoughts and prayers will be with Sgt Williamson's family. I truly understand the horrible pain they are going through as they start this journey. May God send plenty of angels to help his family stand strong.

Will certainly keep the Williamson family in our prayers. Sunyskyz, hug that young man from all of us and as many of his shipmates as you can, especially those that don't have family there. I took in several at my son's PIR., you can't help but love them all!!!!!!
