Danne, there are a number of different MM's. But if you go on the main Navy site you can download what they do. However be warned you may not want to know. I liked it better when i didn't know what my son would be doing on a sub.

Hi all,

I just joined Navy For Moms and I'm still trying to figure out my way around. My son is in A school in S.C. He's been there for a month. I haven't figured out what it means to be a Machinist Mate, but I know that's what he's learning to do. :)

well everything i've looked up for a general address doesn't have a road or anything it just says Naval Submarine Base New London Groton, CT 06349 (i had the zip wrong i just assumed it was 06340 cuz thats what my home address is in base housing) but maybe you can just put your sons name and then that for an address and hope it gets to him lol

The wait will be worth it NancyM. Write when you can. He will enjoy it when he gets so much. I am so gald my son and I can talk everyday now. It's great.

I was going to write my son and send him some goodies...but I guess I will just have to be patient and wait until he gives me an address. He is quiet and doesn't give out hardly any information. I think he should have gone into intelligience...because he sure wouldn't have given any secrets out. :)

or if it is for directions i think if u just put in sub base new london, or sub base nlon, in a search and put groton, ct 06340 that it would probably come up.

nancy m, who are u trying to contact? i have a list of many address for the groton base but not just a general one lol if its becuz ur looking for directions to it i can help with that as well though :)

sandra we talk to our son every day. he been in virgina on the cv since april. alot of cleaning and painting and now cranking that is working in the galley

Hi everyone, new to the Machinest Mate group. My son is finishing up the last of his school will graduate August 14 in SC. Probably going to Virginia from there. Will not know until end of July. So I need someone to fill in on what happens then. How often do you hear from them etc.
