My son is in A school at GL for MM, so I only know about GL...sort of. In phase 1 liberty they can go off base on weekends, in uniform, but have to be back at 8 or 9 pm. I think he went to phase 2 liberty after about 3 weeks. Then he was able to wear civies and have off base liberty from Friday evening to Sunday evening. It may depend on the individual sailor. When the sailors go off base they have to go out in 3's. They have to sign out together and are responsible for each other and if one gets into trouble they all get in trouble. I just went to visit my son and because he was leaving by himself I had to sign him out on Friday and back in on Sunday.

I have been trying to a staight answer about this when i realized all of you moms would be perfect to ask, my boyfriend, kirk wants to know how long each phase lasts and what are you allowed to do and not allowed to do there like, staying off bases over night and what phase he can go out in his civies?

my boyfriend is still at BC in GL but he will be going to Goose Creek after BC to be an MM, so when i saw this group i got excited so hopefully i get some answers to questions that he has!

Well Justin said that A school is all computer classes for MM. He said that you can work ahead if you can. He likes A school and likes his 2 roommates he is consider the oldie at almost 20 in Dec. He was suppose to get phased up today but has to wait till thurs. he said thats ok because he can study some more before thurs. How is everything going with all the other MM and their mom's or aunt's.

Hi group! Eric just did PIR 10/31 and is suppose to move over to A school tomorrow. He is there for machinist mate as well. Looking forward to great information in this group!

My son is in GL for MM he is on the USS Essex and his PIR was 9/26. Nice to meet all of you. We'll need to talk more.
