My daughter just came home last night from Sasebo. Katie will be with us for her 20th birthday and for Christmas. She returns to the USS Essex on the morning of the 26th! Havey a wonderful day. Enjoy reading everyone's news.

Cheryl, glad to hear that Allen is doing good, although Virginia Beach doesn't sound too bad of a place to be stuck:) Does he plan on marrying her soon? Has he proposed as of yet? I would be scared too, but we have to let our kids make decisions and choices on their own weather we think it is a ggod/bad decision all they can do is learn from what they do. Chris' recruiter called yersterday and asked if he was readyt o go to MEPS again on Friday for more testing for the EOD position he wants? But then was told everyone is on hold at this m oment, they are not bringing any new recruits on at this time? Have you heard of this?

Brandy, Allen is doing good. He is still stuck in Virginia Beach, because the Navy informed him that they had no money for him as of yet. He is hoping for January to go. He has a new girlfriend and has informed me that he plans on marrying her. That is scary for me because Allen doesn't get that emotional over anything and he has only known this girl for 3 months. I hope and pray for the best. I haven't met her only on facebook and myspace, but she seems very nice and is taking very good care of my son. We will see. I hope you hear from Chris soon. Your are always in my thoughts and prayers. I am still looking for a job in Florida. Haven't had any luck as of yet, but know that God has His plans and timing and that something will be coming soon. Brandy, thank you for the update on Chris. I will continue to keep him & you in my prayers. Hang in there, it will all work out as it should. We have a hard time being patient and waiting for the right timing. I know how difficult that is. I am waiting to hear from Allen that he got his hard copy/written orders (not just verbal) that he is going to be going to San Antonio at the end of October for Dog Handler training school starting Nov 2. The Navy has it's own time and schedule and it makes it very difficult on those of us who want answers NOW.

Cheryl, Chris is able to work for Special Ops. He wants to become an EOD, had to take him for another waiver for his eyes? MEPS is driving me crazy, said it would take 2-4 weeks for an anwser, supose to stay at MEPS not go all the way to Tenn. like the last waiver. I am an emotional wreck, frustrated and just want a anwser for my son all at the same time. Once the waiver goes through he should ship Jan/Feb to BC. He has to retest for the EOD, he has been at the Y-center daily workig on his upper body strenght, he should pass with no problems, he only missed the test by 2 push ups (his arm gave out) and 2 pull ups. I will keep you posted. Have a good morning.

Hello ladies,
My Michigan Military Mom's group has had an ENORMOUS drive for items for the troops. We will be mailing over 300 boxes. I am thinking this group wait until December and do a mailing for Christmas. let me know what you think.
Sorry i didn't get back to you all sooner, I have had so many things going on. Then this drive happened and was just way more than we expected.
Let me know your thoughts. Also if any of you have a child with an APO or FPO address or someone you may know, please message me and I will make sure a box is sent to them.
