Molly's Adopt a Sailor project

As a group, we would like to adopt a group of sailors and send letters and/or packages. I think we N4M could make a big difference in some sailors lives if all of us would just write one letter (you can do more if you want)

Support our Sailors

What is the most critical or best thing I can send?
Your SUPPORT! This is NOT an attempt to resupply the military, or fix every logistical problem. What counts here is the morale of the Sailor. Send a letter or a new Army tank, they both help, but a Sailor that knows he/she has the support of the folks at home will use that tank far better than without the support.
Count on that.

We will continue to do our best to list the items requested by the Sailors.

Again, this is not an effort to get you to spend a bunch of money, it is about you sending support to those who give us the freedom to express our thanks for our freedom.

Will I get a thank you from the Sailor that gets my package?
We hope you do, but we do not guarantee it.

The Sailors are under no obligation to reply. They can't be. We can't burden Sailors are busy doing there jobs. Sure can't have their leadership tell them to reply either. If you get a reply, it is voluntary by that Sailor.

However, if you want to really increase your chances of getting a reply, simply pre-address an envelope to yourself, a few pieces of paper, and maybe a pen and put them in your package. No need for a stamp on the envelope. In your letter to the Sailor which you also put in the box, ask him/her to drop you a quick note or more and ask if there is anything in particular you can send.

Many of the troops are asking that you include your email address in your letters and boxes if you would like a reply or thank you. This is of course far easier for the troops that have Internet access. This is completely voluntary on your part and does not guarantee a reply. But it helps.

Mailed to Guam today. Miss Molly, what is our next adoption?

I sure agree with that val. In fact, now that Guam is mailed, HAE is mailing 80 to an Army unit tomorrow. My VA friend, who isn't a military mom, but now an honorary Navy mom, is sending 25.
So defintely stay-we have many "boys and girls" to send love to.

Shelia, I am praying for the safety of our sailors. Those rough seas scare me.

Thank you all for your support! I'm happy to stay and help and spread the love that only a "mom" can give! Isn't it amazing that no matter how much we love our family, there is still so much more there for us to give...like the more you give, the more you get back, so there is still more to give! I eagerly await the info for the new month! Thank you al!

They are in my prayers each and every day. No way could i endure those
high seas like they do, my son has told me some crazy stories. They will
all be home soon, thank you Shelia..

You guys are probably aware, but the mighty Crommelin has been sailing some very dangerous waters these last several days....not sure of the specific locale, of course, but she is definatly feeling the effects of the typhoons with very rough seas and bad weather. Most of us here have received reassuring e-mails, and Debbie even got a call...I'll let her tell you guys about that...but, anywhooo, the main purpose of this message is to have you guys pray for our sailors....they may not be facing an enemy with bombs, but the sea can be just as unforgiving and deadly as any enemy....Godspeed, Crommelin...stay safe with those precious lives you hold.

valeriejean ---- you must stay ---we need you to stay ---you have 1000's of sailor out there. You are a navy mom no matter what. You have already adopted one and are making him smile and feel love. I see it ---
Many people here do not have personal sailors in the Navy anymore ---and for many reasons.
You will always be my PIR buddy no matter what/where or what

Tina...You are so right about staying...you started the site "Survivors of Divisions..." which I was a member of. I remember you from there and am so glad you did not walk away from us!
What an inspiration you have been.
