OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

This is the first time I post.  My daughter left to the hotel this afternoon. She will be leaving tomorrow morning after swearing in.  I will be on this site more often now. She signed up to go in earlier than the original ship date of January 29th. We put up our Christmas tree and took lots of pictures.  I miss her already ...

What a great idea, lisa00mor, to put up a Christmas tree early to take pictures! This is a great site to be on - I love the encouragment and information you find here.

lisa00mor,

Stay strong Momma!!  I know it is so hard, especially around the holidays, to have our loved ones gone from home!!  But look at it this way - - - she will be graduating from bootcamp so much sooner now!!!!  I know - - small consolation!!!  LOL   Please feel free to comment on the group page all you need to.  Let us help you when you are missing her so much.  And taking lots of pictures to share with her later is a good idea!!!  You can print a few of your favorites on regular computer paper and then write your letter to her around them!!!  She can see the pictures without sending anything extra in your letters!!!  Keep in touch!!!
