OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

JayDee, We’re Always busy! LOL

Bbcregular, Sounds like a Whirlwind of Fun! Congrats to the new couple. It’s all we can do, support their decisions and give them Love.

Navymomof2daughters. God Bless you. Thank you. What a busy year you’ve had!

Raequel, Hi hang on the ride gets wild at times. But we all stick together. This group helps. I wrote every day something, sent newspaper clippings, news from her old High School, news about littler cuz….about the dog, cut out sayings inspirationals and bible versed also. Love the snowman Navy Cookie!! GREAT idea.

Jesmom6, Great ideas! Thanks for sharing them. 10+ years ago I was handing out address labels to Everyone I knew to send my girl mail. And I did a Prayer blanket, It’s knotted so everyone had to tie a knot and tell us what they loved/missed about her and say a Prayer.

ShawnMom, So true, the busier I stayed the better. Helping others is always an up lifter too.

Mashinka & Raequel, That would be Wonderful! You could meet at PIR!!!!

Anna, my heart breaks for all of you. Prayers going up!

Anna, what a POS! No other words for him, he obviously doesn't deserve any!!!
I am so sorry this happened to Jenn, with all she has been through these past years! Thank God she is strong and we all know she will be fine but .... I just have no words:(. And yes, it does change your plans also, very definitely so I'm figuring all will be positive, sounds like this is where you need to be for your own health.
Please give Jenn hugs from all of us!

Anna my heart breaks along with you and Jen. Navy life, deployments, and marriage is a hard life and takes strong individuals to sustain it. You and your hubby are proof of that strength. May God be with you as you council and love Jen with the roller coaster emotions that she will go through. Divorce is the same as a death and all those emotions will occur. I will continue to pray.

Anna, I'm so sorry that Jenn is going through this.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her and with you.  Stay strong momma, she's going to really need you.  Remind me, is he in the military also?  And don't worry, Bar Harbor will be there waiting for you...

Anna for you and your daughter

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.”

Raequel, we stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn Waukegan/Guernee for a couple of reasons - we cooked our own meals rather than go out and we had a 2 bdrm so other family who attended could stay with us. The accommodations were nice and we used their shuttle rather than drive our own car to PIR. We had a good experience.

Anna! My heart is breaking for you and Jenn! Please know I'm sending you, your husband and Jenn love, support, and prayers as you deal with such a devastating blow. Who can know why things like this happen to wonderful people and families who give life their all. It's baffling. Please know we're here and we love you. I'm so sorry Anna!

Anna thanks for the hotel pointer.

I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter and her husband. I will keep her in prayer. And you as well. Such a tough place for her to be in.
