Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."
Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.
Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Blondie after this spring I'm quite sure that Mother Nature has lost her mind. I'll be up your way tonight, hopefully it's settled down up there!
JayDee. by the time I got off work yesterday it was 46 and people were out mowing! Made me think of you. :) Shoveling and plowing in the AM and mowing in the PM, this is Crazy! This morning 27 and wind chills again, suppose to hit 50 today. we'll see. No wonder everyone is sick!
LOL, I UNDERSTAND!
Blondie this is a never ending winter! We have a freeze warning and a high wind advisory. Yesterday it was 80. On Monday it snowed here yet the lawn company was at our office mowing in the snow. Whatever.
Beautiful morning here in Ohio. Snow is falling, ground is covered. Wind chill is in the teens but what a Wonderful sight! I tried to upload some pictures but having trouble again. Will try when I get off work .
Hope all is well. Navy Mom Hugs
Tweetybird,
Yes, those feelings are real and we understand how you feel!! Currently I have a son deployed and my daughter, although her deployments are different from those on ships. She's gone for a month and home for a month. I never know where she's going until after the fact. Just know you are not alone, we are here to help you through this. Is this her first deployment? I saw a newspaper yesterday that mentioned the Truman leaving. Hope you find all those groups you are looking for and that you get her address. Stay in touch here also and let us know how she's doing!!
Tweetybird - here's the link for our Truman page:
here are a couple more things I learned re: sending care pkgs across the waves: be sure to include her address inside the box, place it and the items in a trash bag just in case the box becomes damaged or is exposed to weather/water. Just to be safe I used packing tape on all the edges too. These boxes get stacked & loaded onto a pallet before being shipped. Taping the corners and edges will give your pkg a little more strength.
Tweetybird, I've reached out to the NukeMom's. There's probably one of them on the Truman who can help. Hang on. I'm getting ready to leave my office for the day but I'll keep an eye out and let you know.
Oleander how do I go about contacting her FRG? And to top it off my other daughter is going the Marines going crazy her!!!!!
