I hope everyone has a great New Year's Eve ... make it a safe one.

NavyMom, I love the combination of snowy trees and the color of the flag. It is nice contrast. The flag seems to glow.

Great pictures, Blondie. Which was the bride?

Hello everyone. Welcome Wade - so glad to have you here. I also have a son and a daughter in. My son did 4 years and got out and then decided to go back in again. So now he has 5 years under his belt. He is out in Nevada. My daughter, the youngest of twin daughters has been in for a year and 1/2. She is in WA state. She has not been home for a holiday in two years. I find I miss my daughter more than my son and it's not because I'm not close to my son. It's just that after both older boys left it was me and my two girls. My hubby's work took him to other states so it really was just the 3 of us. Now her twin sister is putting in her paperwork to go into the Navy as an officer. She will still have two years of college to finish up but wants to be a Navy pilot. I'm adjusting to this empty nest stuff myself and I can honestly say I don't care for it!!!! :)
But this is a wonderful group of moms here and they always have just the right words to say to make us all feel better!! We will be here to help you just the same!!
Blondie,
Sorry you are having some health issues. I hope everything gets better for you and soon. I don't think I can go through another withdrawal of you not being on here.

Joanne,
How is K? Do you still get to check in with her daily?

Navy Mom,
Those visits from our sailors are always too short for us aren't they? Glad he had a nice visit tho'!!

I am now in Maryland spending a few days with my oldest son and dil. Daughter Jennifer is with us and Hubby is coming up tomorrow for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Saturday we are traveling to DC for some museums and such. Haven't been to DC in several years so it should be fun. Sunday I head back home after 2+ weeks visiting with Jenn. It will be hard leaving her again!! **sigh**
Happy New Years to all you wonderful Navy Moms!!!!

Good morning. It is snowing here again. I think I'll stay in. The poor turkeys look so miserable.

Anna, good tires are in the category of necessity and not luxury. It sure is hard sometimes ... I know, been there, done that.

Joanne, I'm sorry that Kasey has lost the Internet. At least it is towards the end of her deployment and not the beginning. I know that is small consolation right now.

I got you Joanne. That will make communications a little more difficult tho' won't it? Did you say she was leaving there in March?
Comment by Anna on December 28, 2009 at 8:00pm
Blondie,
So sorry I missed you today. Jenn and I spent the day trying to get her car fixed so she can drive it to MD on Wednesday. Turns out she had a damaged tire and we have to replace it. Right now is not good money wise to go buying two new tires but we finally found a decent price so then we had to go back out again to drop the car off. We have about 6 inches of snow and the roads were starting to get real messy. I tried turning from a main road onto a side street to her apartment and was going sideways!!!!! Don't like that much!!!

Joanne,
Has your daughter told you why they are losing their internet? Does she even have cell phone service where she is?

Good evening! Just stopping by to say hi. Have had company ... lots of fun. But little time to stop in.

I think you're right dmarie!! Only thing I've heard from Pat is a Christmas greeting on Christmas day. How was your holiday?
