Blondie,
Did not see your last two posts while I was typing my last message. I'm glad you heard from her and that they are ok!!!

Blondie,
I've been doing some Christmas baking with my Jenn and I just sliced the end of my finger!!! Jenn almost passed out seeing the blood dripping in the sink!! She would not make a nurse at all!!! Makes typing a challenge!!!

JM,
I'm worried about Pat and Jenn also. I'm sure if it was good news she would have gotten on right away to let us know. I'm hoping that maybe she has pinned the doctors down to make a decision and has taken Jenn to other specialists and just doesn't have time to get to us!!! I'm praying for them both!!!

Jane,
I'm glad I don't have to go to any stores for last minute gifts. We aren't doing much this year and luckily I finished before I came to Ohio!!

Hi Ladies, I haven't posted in a while but as usual I have been stalking the site. Glad everyone is busy and enjoying the weather for the holidays. We have had cool weather for the holidays which is a nice change. 75 and sunny today but it actually got down to the low 40"s last night.
Spent yesterday at the mall, lucked out with a front row parking space, only took about 3 hours to finish my christmas shopping. My sailor, who is currently in Virginia Beach, will not be home until the 28th. I feel bad for her because this is her first holiday away from home, all her friends from base have already left, and she has guard duty on Christmas. It is hard to help them when they are lonely, don't like their roomates (one has been snitching her Christmas goodies) or the food on base (loved the food at bootcamp). Nothing I can do from 2000 miles away.

Unfortunately, I do have a concern about one of our ladies. KR and I were to have met up with Pat on Monday. We have not seen her on line, emails have not been answered and we have tried to contact her by phone with no luck. We are hoping that she is just having such a good time with Jenn that she couldn't fit us in and I hope that is the case. We know that Jenn had a Doctors appointment on Monday, so it is our hope that there wasn't bad news about Jenn's health concerns. I know that we are all friends here, and I hope that Pat is well but I do ask that you pray for Pat and Jenn.

Joanne,
I'm glad Kasey got her Christmas gifts. All of the gifts I've sent have been received. Don't know about the box of goodies to Catherine yet from Blondie!!!! But she should certainly get it by Christmas.

NavyMom and DC,
I love your Christmas pictures. I don't have my picture CDs with me or I would post one from NE Ohio where the snow was up to our waist!!! It was beautiful but it was difficult to dig out of!!!! I had big livingroom windows and I loved watching the snow fall. Especially at night when it would sparkle in the street lights as it fell!!! And the reflection of the Christmas lights as they sparkle off the snow!!!

Blondie,
I will certainly miss "talking" to you over the holidays but I agree with DC - it is better that you have that time off to enjoy with the family and friends and not even think about the office for a few days. You need some kick back and enjoy time!!!!

Kathy,
Good to hear from you again - how are you doing? What's happening in your neck of the woods?
Comment by DC - G'mother of My Fav Sailor on December 22, 2009 at 10:39am
Blondie, enjoy your days off peacefully at home. We will miss you but it is much better that you not come in to chat! You will have to get yourself a Blackberry so you can access us from a phone.

NavyMom, I'll leave the jazz to you ... one form of music I have never developed a taste for. Poor hubby ... he likes progressive jazz a lot. The other night he was listening to some in bed. I grit my teeth and kept quiet. When it went off, he grinned at me and wanted to know if I was now happy. So, I'll leave you to your jazz on your headphones and I will have classical on mine.

In your pictures, I see the sun one time but not the other. Is it a sunset or sunrise? Here is an picture that is taken at sunset. My back was to the sun so this is a reflection on the trees.

KR,
Sorry you didn't get to meet up - I really hope everything is ok for Jenn and Pat.
Maybe she will still get in touch with you tonight. It's still early there!!!

Oh, Blondie, icy branches are truly lovely. If the sunlight shines through, the trees positively sparkle! Snow usually piles on top of the branches, ice encases the twigs in sparkle and fog creates a lovely frost. It is so much fun to see all of it.
