Just finished putting the lights on the house. So proud of myself, did it alone this year, everyone else is at work. Made me think of Aub, so far away. Looks like she will make it home but not til the 28th.

Kathy M, UNL is one of my alma maters. I was on the ag campus ... don't think they call it that anymore.

Started getting out some of the Christmas things today. Put up the Advent wreath so we can light a candle this evening. Also we put some of the lights outside. It looks nice. Every year I swear I'm putting things away so I can get to the early stuff easily. Somehow every year I end up removing all the boxes to find what I want. This year I will get organized.

Morning Ladies up early today, It was platelette day for me and my hubby. Sometimes it seems so wrong to get up early on a holiday weekend but not for this. Gotta help those cancer patients. What a great feeling. have a good day ladies, now off to church and lunch with son and his girl. Bummer that Hubby had to go straight to work.

Good evening ladies!! Thanksgiving was an ok day. Cooked a big tradional meal for just me and the hubby, but with no one else around it just felt a little lacking. Today we headed off to a Revolutionary War battlefield in NC. Spent the day wondering around in the woods!!!! Then out to dinner. Staying in a hotel tonight, then tomorrow will continue on alittle more and visit with his sister for awhile..This is the one thing we always looked forward to doing when we wouldn't have to worry about taking along the kids, but . . . . . . . .

Jas,
When I was looking for flights for me from NC to WA to visit my daughter, I checked with Expedia online and found really cheap flights. I flew AA. I do know that season and lead time will have alot to do with the price of tickets. Good luck - I hope you find really good prices for her!!! Will she be coming home for Christmas?

Glad everyone else seems to have had a nice Thanksgiving!!!
Blondie, how are you doing?

Well said Charlotte!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Joanne,
Safe travels!!

I have my blue candle lit for all our sailors who cannot be with family this Thanksgiving Day. My sailor son called from NV to tell me he is cooking for about 10 sailors who will be on their own today. I hope they like my Hungarian stuffing because that is what he's making!!!!

JM,
Dam Neck is an annex of Oceana. That is where my sailor son spent many months becoming an IS also. He was on hold twice and hated it!!! There is so much in the Virginia Beach area to do. Sailors often get rides with other sailors. And there have been long stories about the crappy barracks there so I'm glad she is moving into some better ones.

Thank you KR for giving the answer. I too was going nuts tryiing to remember!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Peace and comfort!!!!

About 6 months or so. She starts A school on the 30th. Glad there is no hold. They are having problems with their barracks so will be moving to nicer facilities in about a week, she has 1 roomate who will be starting C school soon, so she has someone to show her the ropes. When I talked to her at the airport yesterday, she was both nervous and anxious.
