Oleander, my daughter needed someone like yours!

Susan, there are probably 1000-1900 that graduate every Friday.  You can watch it live on-line every week.  You may wish to do so in advance just to give you an idea.  I watched it last week after the gate incident held up PIR for an hour or so.  I still cry when I see those doors roll up and then when they sing Anchors Aweigh....sniff

Yes there are that many graduates - and they're all wearing exactly the same  thing which makes it even more difficult to identify them. Also, be sure to sit in her division's section which will be marked and easy to find.

Each PIR has a different # of graduates but from what I remember there will be hundreds!

My child always wore makeup but in preparation for not wearing any at bootcamp she went down to the very basics which I was grateful for :) how many graduate in a class? Is there that many people you need binoculars? Lol

That's hysterical JayDee!  On the opposite side of the spectrum, not only did my girl wear makeup at PIR ( and ask me to send very specific items to her), she had a line of girls waiting for her to do their makeup!

Oleander, I wish I'd have thought of that.  I did make eye contact with my girl (yes even from the balcony).  She kept blinking her eyes at me.  I thought it was some signal that I didn't understand.  Turns out she'd bought mascara to wear at PIR and was batting her eyes at me.  Child has never willingly put on make up before, I was floored.  PS that was probably the last time she's ever worn it too.

Yes - definitely sit on the 1st level! And bring a small pair of bird watching binoculars. You might think that sounds crazy but we were able to see our daughter's face through the whole ceremony. It was so much fun to see her make eye contact with us and then break into a teeny little smile!

JayDee659 thank you that is valuable information!

Susan, I attended Sarge's Meet & Greet and enjoyed it.  My daughter's then BF won a challenge coin for dancing.  He will tell you to sit up in the balcony for the best seat but I'll amend that.  Sit in the highest seat on the main floor.  We sat in the balcony and with only one staircase onto the drill deck it took FOREVER to get to my daughter.  Lesson learned for me.  Sarge also told us to avoid the line at the main gate by parking at the train station.  Nope, they came and cleared us out and then we had to wait in a longer line at the gate.  Sarge means well but he was a little out of touch with some info.  Just think it through and use your best judgement.

Haha haven't told her this information yet.  Really only 2 weeks into this lol but knowing my child she wouldn't tell a soul...She is a secret keeper
