Blondie, you have been gifted by God to accomplish all that you do. I would be burned out and ready to just sit down and cry...but you are like the energizer bunny and just keep going. Prayers for you my Navy Mom friend.

Just put my daughter back on the plane after a three week visit. Fun thing, she has so much leave banked up, she will be meeting us in March while we are in CA and travel to a RV rally then on to LasVegas. Will be the first time to visit Vegas. We are having a good time traveling and visiting areas that we had only read/heard about.

Happy New Year y'all.

Been very busy as always. Didn't get back from VA until the 5th. a lot of delays.....STRESS!  good and bad that's all I can say.

Work of course is the usual crazy!  Came back had to catch-up 3 weeks of weeklies and deposits, month-ends and year-ends times 4! 3 weeks of mail, insurance billing, patient billing....and the office has been over ran with new patients, Lots to do! And in a couple weeks, I'll be get insurance payments for all those visits!  Job security. LOL

3rd day we were home husband's 70 year old single sister fell down her basement steps and laid there for 16 hours!  Pulled herself up the steps and into the house....broke the ball of her hip and fractured the femur. A full 2 days before she had surgery, because how long she laid, getting her to nearest hospital, then taken to bigger hospital for surgery....getting approval from Medicare and finding an ambulance service that took Medicare!  2 days later  back in our local hospital (1/2 hour away) in a swing bed and doing therapy.  So we've been taking care of her cat (can't bring to my house), her house and an older lady she takes care of! Still can't find her keys!  We are trying to clean and rearrange her house so when she gets home..... Then Tue. a great aunt passed away, we never did get over to see her (guilt).  So haven't been home this week before 9pm either and tonight starts calling hours....I work till 6pm tonight and back in at 7:30 tomorrow morning. And I still have food to make. Yicks.

All you ladies and your military are always in my thoughts and Prayers

HUGS for now

Good morning and welcome sdred! You've come to the right place. As JayDee said, sometimes we're quiet. Hang on tight, this is a roller coaster - but we'll definitely be here for you! Sending you and your girl a big navy mom hug!

sdred, yes that is a very short, scripted call but it let's you know they're there and you get to hear their voice.  My daughter called my husbands cell at 2:am so I didn't get to talk to her but could hear her voice.

We're here for you!  We can be quiet, but you just need to reach out and we reach back!

Morning all,  Got the call late last night that my daughter arrived in bootcamp and was safe.  Very short call, but so happy to hear her voice.  It was a very long day.  So great I have somewhere to go for guidance and freak outs.

Valerie,

B'sNukeMom gave excellent advice!!  Email is the best way to communicate but sometimes she may not have access to the computers.  My son was deployed many times and it was a kind of hit or miss when it came to emails.  Also, he had a tablet with him and when he had good internet we could skype!!!  That was the best. And certainly get on the ombudsman list so you get notices and newsletters. Good luck to your son!!!!

Hi Valerie - hopefully you have his email address and he has you on the approved list with the ships Ombudsman so you can get the ship newsletters.  The 'WhatsApp" is a good app for both of you to use.  He just needs to have wifi to use it.  My son and I used the App and it's easy to use.

Here's the link to the WhatsApp:
