Navy For Moms

Thought this might be a good place for specific questions. For all of us really. This way we can all chat on our main page, but when there is a specific question, it can be addressed separately. ~ Vikki

You know? I still wonder why the Navy does not send in a platoon of Seabees to gut those barracks and remodel them. I know the Seabees are busy but why not make that a part of their school? On the job training! For the cost of only one fighter jet I'd almost bet that over 1/2 of the Naval facilities throughout the world could be brought up to government housing standards. What do I know though? I have a hard enough time balancing my personal account let alone the military's budget. Just a suggestion for those in charge...

Mary - thanks! My nephew-in-law (brother's son-in-law) is also at Fort Bragg. He is a Marine. I guess the Army needed a Marine for something!! Did Chris do the imagery school? How long was he at Dam Neck?

Zac's Mom,
I'm glad to know that you have two family members here in our state! Awesome!
No, Chris is OpIntel. He arrived in January and left at the end of May but he happened to graduate at a time when he was very much needed by his next command so he had no time off between A school and C school which is not uncommon but very often there is anywhere from a one week to even a period of a couple of months waiting to class up for C school. Usually the OpIntel classes fill up more quickly as that's what the majority of them go on to do. Chris' group though, was one of the first (during that commander's stay) to have a class with a 100% completion rate. So everyone he classed up with, finished A school together on time and it was easy to fill the next OpIntel class. Sometimes they get lucky like that.
