Rene, they keep threatening us with the "s" word too. I hope it waits. Then maybe it should do it now and get it over with. We'd like to make a trip to Denver in Jan. (maybe) to see our son in Denver. Everything depends on when our sailor comes up to WA to visit. YAY!

I'm doing great, Mary. Could be a bit warmer, but can't control that! Glad that you are enjoying school. What are you studying? I know you've told us, but there's so much to remember!

That's so funny, Anna.

Enjoy your day, everyone!

Anna, Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! I did not realize you were there already. I thought you were not leaving for another week or so, I really do need to keep up better. School is great but takes up so much of my time. All these "short" papers and research papers are ok since that is my forte, but combined with all the events and projects???? So glad to hear about ChrisA. I passed the news along to ChrisM, he was somewhere between "Cool!" and "Dang!" lol. I suppose he will have to get their address soon so he can send them a Korean baby gift! teehee! Get off here and go enjoy your other sailor!
Charla, how are you this fine morning? Got any plans for a relaxing day? I'm lucky that it is going to be beautiful here and I only have 1 short class so I can work in the yard a couple of hours this morning and a couple more this afternoon.
Gotta take my dogs out so they can have a good day too...
Hugs to all,
Mary

Amen Mary,

Good to hear from you again! Hope school isn't tying you down too much. I currently am visiting with my girl in WA and loving every minute of it. I don't want to think about leaving in a few days!! :(

I would like to thank everyone for the concern shown here for our military personnel. I know it's a difficult time for all and we have our sailor's best interests always on our minds and in our hearts.
All moms--this has also been a reminder to me to watch what I say here as I feel very comfortable being in this group and therefor often post without thinking mindfully. We do have to be careful with names. I would like to clarify that in the case of multiple names such as Chris, we devised a simple system of associating them with the mom's first name so that my son is ChrisM(ary) and Anna's son is ChrisA(nna), Dawn's son is ChrisD(awn) and so forth. It has worked pretty well and at one point there were about 5 Chris' moms on here and if we did not do that it got confusing. It's just a suggestion when your sailor has a common name.
For those who come here that are not moms or dads of sailors, ie sailors, or spouses, or significant others, thank you so very much for your input and support. Please remember as well that as parents we have been responsible legally, finacially, and most important emtionally for these sailors for 18 years or more. It is a transition period for us as well as for our young men and women. You are at a stage of your life where you are away from your parents and feel as though you have the world by the tail, and you are privileged to information we do not have. Just know and understand that as parents we are still concerned for not only the safety of our family members but also their physical and emotional well being.

We all need each other and come here for a place to sob when we are worried or lonely, a place to brag about our folks accomplishments when we are happy for them, a place to vent when we feel as though they have been wronged. It does not mean that we think any less of the country, the military, any officers, or our sailors, or our families sitting right beside us, but sometimes we just need to talk and put it out there for someone else to put a new perspective on it for us. And to allow others to let us know that they understand our feelings and that we can come to talk. That is the biggest reason for this site as a whole, is for support, knowledge, and most of all for understanding.
I have loved this site and I am so happy that the Navy has allowed it to continue. Maybe Ellen can find time to put a list of the administrators somewhere on the page and if anyone sees something questionable bring it to an admin's attention. The admin can review the post and delete it if necessary.
Thank God for our freedoms, our security, and those who keep us secure. Lord, thank you for virtual friends who support and comfort us through trying times. No offense to anyone intended and none taken.
Navy Hugs to all,
Mary

Hi everybody, hope all is well. It's good to see that all of us can respect each other's opinion without taking or intentionally giving offense. It is good to have a safe place to voice our opinions and get answers to our questions and fears without feeling ridiculed by our peers on this site. Thank all of you for sharing.
Great Big Hugs to everyone.
