It's been soooo long since I posted because we have felt in limbo. Phil just got his diver contract and is waiting for his turn to leave for basic. His contract says March 2nd, but he is hoping a slot comes open sooner. But he is breathing a sigh of relief that he finally has his contract! It will be nice to have him home for the holidays, but if the Navy calls - he will go!

Enjoy your time off! I'll keep him in prayer during Pool week. I supose he is excited to find out where he is going. (and you, too!) Has he expressed any preference for MDSU, SDV or Ships husbandry?

Ida wasn't too bad, mostly rain. The best part was we got a day out of school :) Teachers like it just as much as the kids. So we have 2 days off with Veterans Day tomorrow. Aaron called yesterday and they did not have class today because of Ida. They will start pool week on Thursday. He said the Petty Officers (?) told them that they had their orders but they weren't ready to share it with them yet. He said its making them crazy wondering where they are going.

Joyce- How are you doing over there? They just had tape from PC on our Jacksonville news and it didn't look too bad. My "boy wonder" is over there with his surfboard-so lets just hope the NEDU is keeping him busy and off the beach-haha.

Kellie, My son just got to PC yesterday. His pre- dive class started with 27. 11 made it to PC. One wife moved to PC a week before the guys were to do the final test at GL and her husband did not make it. Now she is living in PC and he is not. Definately one day at a time is the best answer, but don't give up hope and encourage him all the way. He has a rough road ahead of him and needs the support.

Kellie, one day at a time is about right. Our son graduates the 17th of this month with 13 of the 38-40 that started dive prep with him.

Wow! Ok well thank you for both your comments because I had no idea that, that many people dropped and failed it. I knew it was tough but one day at a time is now in my head and not going to be planning anything any time soon. That is awesome that both your sons are doing the program so well and hopefully Jake can complete the program. One day at a time is now my new motto!
