Hi Julie, all is well and I'm glad Cory is coming home. Do you have any special plans?

The weather in Chicago has been amazingly beautiful. I really miss the valley and hopefully I will get there this winter, so I can get a nice warm up. I just love flying into Sky Harbor in the winter time. I always get a "warm" welcome.

Cory will be home Friday.....I have got to get his room cleared out!!! Since the kids left home my stuff has just morphed into the extra rooms. Don't know how I ever raised 3 kids in this house.......was there really enough room for all of us??? Doesn't seem possible!!!

Hello friends, I have been out of town this past weekend and have not had access to my computer. :o( Thanks for all the well wishes for Wesley.

Julie ~ That is soooo sweet of you to offer your phone number. I really appreciate it. Wes has decided to fly home for the holidays because he will not have enough leave days to drive so far. Actually he will not get leave until Dec. 30th so he will be here for New Years. Any time he can get home during the holidays is great by me. This may be the last time he gets home for a year or so. But, hopefully I will be able to go and see him next summer sometime.

Shelia ~ Great Pictures!!!! What a handsome sailor you have!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful week. ttyl

Thanks Molly, he is on the Essex but maybe their paths will cross someday. My second graders are making Veteran's day cards and we will send them to Blake. That should cheer him up. Princess I agree that this is a perfect time for Blake to rely on God. I remind him that he is covered in prayer. It helps to know I have this site where I can share and ask questions.

Princess: Hey there.....it's been a LONG while, what in the world have you been up to? Cory won't make it home for Christmas, but he's coming in next Friday. The weather in Phoenix is BEAUTIFUL right now. We had a cold spell a week or so ago....highs only in the 60's, but we're back up to 70's and low 80's. Glad to hear your sailor is doing so well....and will be home for the holidays. Keep in touch!

Hi all, as many of you know my son is also stationed in Japan. He, too will be home for Christmas. As you can imagine, I'm very excited.

When my son arrived in Japan. He also felt lonely. He comes from a big family and he is also very young. He just turned 19 in October.

Since he's been there he has grown into a very nice young man. In the beginning he was in a state of limbo because his ship was deployed and when he got on the ship he had to get orientated with his job and social conditions of the ship, as well as meet new friends/shipmates. Since that time, when he is deployed he is very busy, no time for lonliness. When he has he days off and he's not deployed, he shops, he calls me, he enjoys his grown up life. Finally, he has gained confidence which has somewhat cured his lonliness.

Another thing because we are people of faith, I have always taught my children to believe that in a big world there's always an even bigger God who's will never leave you nor forsake you. I told them that there will be times when mommy is not around, but God is always around and unlike me some of the times, He is faithful as promised.

wamom ----hello darling. My Tucker will be heading to japan soon to be on the USS Blue Ridge -- if your son is on that let me know and we could hook them up together, Tucker is such a sweet kiddo and just may also be in need a of a friend going through the same thing :)
Also if you know his ship we can get the address for you pretty easy. All you need to know is his rate, name and dept (which we can figure out)

Thanks everyone. I emailed my son and told him other sailors felt the same way and are now doing fine. I think it will help him to know he isn't the only one to ever feel that way.

Wamon: Hang in there! It takes a while ofter our sailors switch bases or assingments for them to feel like they are "a part of"...like Cracker says, the whole tune can change in a week! In the mean time Shelia's adivice is probably your best bet....send letters, cards, packages...just stay in contact! This is a hard one.....stay in touch....we really are here for you!

Thanks all for the sweet words about my cutie...I'm a little biased, I know. Can't wait to squeeze him....

CJ, you are always so practical.....and wise.....your advise to wamom is so good.

Julie! What a great surprise!!! So glad for you and Corey...hope this visit is THE greatest for you two, and relieved he gave you a little warning. :)))) Better get the fridge and pantry stocked...I know I've already started for our visit in December.
