WELCOME Patriotmadre08: We are so glad you found us! You have just become a member of one of the most supportive groups I have found. As you can tell by the number of members you are certainly NOT alone. Some of us are pretty new to this arena of "undesignated"....others have been onboard for over a year. Some sailors got here by choice, but most would have chosen anything but "undesignated". As you read over past posts you'll find the vast majority of our sailors are doing just fine. They've settled in, found friends and are accomplishing their goals. Let us know if you have any questions.....we'll do our best to get them answered.

Anyone have their sailors going to Japan on the George Washington? My son graduated 11-25-09 and he is going to Japan 1-27-2010.

Cracker: Sounds like you had a real housefull for Thanksgiving....the "empty house syndrome" takes a little getting used to after they've been home.....NOT one of my favorite issues!

We ended up with 11 at the table, Tara's best friend growing up was home from college with a friend, so they came for dinner, plus the 2 that came with Tara and then our usual group. A good time was had by all. It went way to fast.

Tara and the gang left early this morning. My turn Julie to deal with the empty house :(

It seems that Tara's Marine friend (Mike) is a little more then just a friend, if you know what I mean!! He seems to be a very nice guy. A little quiet, but he was coming out of his shell by the time the weekend was over. Hope we didn't scare him off. Will see, how it goes.

Cracker: Sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving! Glad Tara and crew could make it home.

I had dinner at Brett's (2nd son) house with his family.....it was terrific. Those grandkids (2 boys) are so cute! I worked today....could have taken it off but then decided not to take a vacation day. I have 3 vacation days I have to use before March 1st.....so if I can put aside the money for airfare I'm planning to fly to Virginia for a long weekend.....I even volunteered to work Christmas so I can take 4 days to visit Cory. Not sure what Virginia will be like in the middle of winter....but who cares!!!!

Well Tara her roommate and a Marine friend pulled in at 5am. They are all sleeping right now. My guess is they will get up in time for a turkey dinner breakfast.
They will be here till Sunday.
