Welcome kit4wit! What experiences!!! I pray that they all do well from their experiences. Sounds like much was learned already and they are leading their lives in a positive track because of that. We have much to learn from you. I don't know what the plans of my sailors will end up being. So far the Navy has given both a positive experience and both will be reenlisting to some degree. They are still 2 years from making that decision, but are thinking about it often. Glad you joined us here!

Welcome kit4wit! I know I for one will appriciate your experience in dealing with the Navy. Wow! 15 years. Both of my boys say at this time they plan to make it a carreer, but I know 1 should, but the other probably will.

I've had 3 sons in the navy at one time! I've got a Navy wall to prove it! One got out after 9 yrs in, with PTSD after dealing with 1 yr in Iraq and then taking care of the detainees in GTMO in Cuba who left him with horrible nightmares of what they would do to his family if they ever got out of GTMO and were released elsewhere! He still wakes up in sweats today from that nonsense! He is under treatment by the VA for PTSD for that and is trying to rebuild his life in medical school to become a veterenarian because he loves animals and he wants to end their suffering. Truthfully, he wants to end everyone's suffering, so he is very active in veteran's rights.

My sons Christian and Nick are swtill active duty, one stationed as an Independent Duty Corpsman at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, after many years of tour of duty in Japan and the theater of
Asia. He was constantly being sent away from his family to take care of Cambodia, the Phillipines, Laos, Vietnam, Taiwan, Saigan, and Singapore, as well as a lot of time in Korea, the land of "knock-offs" of various hot items. His family and young babies were told to be happy with souvenirs that daddy would bring home from his travels to make up for daddy's absence, which could never compensate for daddy's hugs and cuddles and singing songs goodnight and telling goodnight stories to them to make them go to sleep instead of his absence every night. Such is the life of a military man and father!
Mom could only do so much!

Welcome June! I have one sailor in SD right now too. His brother is to go there by the Spring. Both are stationed on carriers. Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful celebration for your Thanksgiving this year! Hooyah to Nolan! Thank you to both of your sons for serving in our Navy on this Veteran's Day! What is an SK? Don't recognize that rate. I have an ABE and an AS!
