Michele, you need to get Skype! It is completely free and you actually get to SEE them! On the other side of the World!! LOL You just have to download the free program. It was really easy. i love it. i get to meet his buddies too because they are often there when he calls.

Also, my son gets a cell phone IN THE COUNTRY HE IS STATIONED IN and calls us to let us know when he is on Skype. It is less expensive than American cell phones' long distance rates. (And he has a way of calling his buddies.)

Thank you so much! Does your son love it? It looks beautiful! How do you communicate with each other? My daughters cell company charges a fortune for the phone and air card. I am trying to help her set up something before she goes. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

Hello everyone! My daughter Sammi is due to arrive in Sig on 1/5. She is a GM, not sure of all the particulars though. I look forward to meeting some other moms with family stationed there as well.

Skype is great, isn't it? We are going to link up with my son at Sig and my soon-to-be-son-in-law at Fort Bragg on Christmas so that we can have a family Christmas!! That will be fun! If they can't be here in body, they can at least be here in spirit and video!! LOL

I love Skype! We started using it about a month ago and it's like a whole new world, We are going to set up the webcam for Christmas Eve to have a family Christmas (Since she has watch Christmas Day) Now, if the post office co operates and get her presents there on time!
