I wanted to start this group for us parents that are getting emotionally ready for our sailors deployment

Hello,
To all you parents, siblings,Loved ones of our sailors! I thought this group could be helpful .
My son is getting ready for his first deployment. HE just told me its going to be a 10 month tour.
It seems like forever. I get overwhelmed sometimes.
This is going to be the 3rd deployment for our family. I have another son who has gone over twice. Hes a Marine.
I hope we can use this group to encourage each other through this time of change and transition.
Thanks,
KIM

Hi. Just joining this group. My son is deploying somewhere in January and on an aircraft carrier. I don't know which one or where he is going. I just learned about this group from the Norfolk group.

Hello everyone and boy am I glad I found this group. My son will be deploying in approximately 3-4 weeks and what a wreck I am.

Does anyone know if when they leave the US if they fly from another airport that were they are stationed?

God bless all of our troops and Lord keep them safe and bring them all home!

When my daughter was going to be deployed, or was deployed, it helped me to support others.

This is where I was redirected for Support for Troops with the America Supports You site. On the right it has a link for writing the troops. I have gotten replies back, they DO read them! http://www.ourmilitary.mil/Message.aspx?SectionID=5

Hi everyone. I just wanted to share that I have almost reached the light at the end of the tunnel. My deployed sailor will be back in the states soon. Before long I will be traveling to watch his plane land and see his feet touch American soil. Asking for prayers for safe travel for all of us. So very thankful they are all returning together. Hoping this gives you all a little light. Best wishes!

Hey i'm hoping to connect with any mothers who are in the Navy and will be deploying. I leave for my first deployment in March and I'll be leaving behind my 9 month old. I guess I'm just looking for some support or advice?

Hello ladies. How is everyone and their families doing. We have seen our sailor three times since i was last here. Just enjoying him and feeling bad when he has to go back. We take what we can get, but it still hurts. I hope you all are doing good. Have a great evening. Oh yes the ship is so big, we saw it up close at night- I pray for all of us.

Thanx Pat,
I guess they can re enlist early. Yah he is only 20. The Stennis is his Subs sister carrier. His Sub is in dry dock for 2 1/2 yrs so he has to catch a ride on other subs to get his Sea Quals done. One of my friends Grand daughter just was on the Stennis. I'm very proud of AJ and all our Sailors. He is my middle child between 2 sisters.
