Hi Sarah,
I had a wonderful visit with Marisa last weekend. She was able to fly home for the week end. She's now 7 months along, She quite big. The baby is very active. I had a baby shower for her. Our friends and family was very gererous. She received alot of gifts and gift cards. She's all ready now.I'm so proud of her. She continue's to read anything she can get her hands on about child birth and raising kids. A little worried about breast feeding. I asured her that it will come naturally. I was touched when she asked me to be in the delivery room with her.I assumed she would want to be alone with her husband. I've planned to stay 3 weeks around her due date. I hope he waits for me to arrive before he does.
Her doctor says she will most likely will work up until delivery. She is now at a desk. I'm greatfull for that. She was on her feet 8 to 10 hours a day and complaining about her legs hurting.
How is Becca? Does she know what she is having? Did she finely get orders?
I hope all is well

Gretchen,
How exciting!!! Becca is doing good. She has been getting very tired and some headaches, but overall, good. She still doesn't have any orders yet.

That is too cute that she is buying diapers!

Tell Marisa to watch her salt intake. Any processed foods will only make her swell up. Tell her to weigh herself everyday and then drink half her body weight in water (in ounces). This is the only true way to determine how much water every one needs. Well, I better get to bed.
Hugs,
Sarah

Sarah, How's your little mommy to be. Did she get orders yet. Marisa is doing Ok.Her feet and hands are swelling. She had to have her wedding rings cut off. She said that the doctor said she is coming along just fine. I can't stand being so far away. Not being able to hug her when she calls crying.
She started buying diapers. Its so cute. She told me she's buyng a pack a paycheck.Wanted to know If she should buy newborn 0 to 8 pounds or stage one 6 to 12 pounds. All I could do was laugh. I told her she should just clip coupons. and save money.
She did find out that she will go on light duty after her next doctor visit.I'm glad to hear that.

Gretchen,
Becca is doing great...she is about 14 weeks along now, and getting excited about it. I don't know when they go on light duty, they haven't told her anything yet. She doesn't even have her orders yet. They don't communicate very much to these girls, which I think is bad. They need to tell them more so they know what to expect. I think it is very hard for them to plan anything when it comes to planning the baby's birth and all.

How are our expecting daughters doing?
Mine is tired. Getting big, baby is very active. Do you know when they go on light duty? 14 hour days are starting to wear on her.

Gretchen,
I am so grateful for all the friends that I have made on this site. You all have made much better to deal with. When I feel as though no-one understands, then I remember all the moms who are dealing with this as well, and I don't feel so down. So....thank you for being there. I truly appreciate it.

On a better note, even if she says to hold off, I am going to start getting basic baby stuff ready for a care package for her. I think she will be touched and I know that no matter what she says, she will need this stuff.

I am listening to one of her favorite artists and it really helps me to feel closer to her...Norah Jones will heal any hurt.

Sarah,
Yep, I can relate. There has been days when Marisa has snapped right out of the blue.Don't let it get to you. I think that it's a combination of the stress and the changes that they are going thru.Who better to take it out on "Good Old Mom"
I sent my daughter the books " What to expect when your expecting" and "What to eat when your expecting". She likes having reference books.

March seems like a good time to get together. Saturday or Sunday is best for me.The only week end I'm not available it the 14th and 15th. I like the Galena idea also.

Have a good day, Stay warm :)

Gretchen,
She called as soon as she got out of her appointment, and she is due the day before my 40th birthday!!! I told her that if she had the baby on my birthday, she would never have to buy me another birthday present again. She said that's doable!! She is 10 weeks and 5 days along. Everything is going ok and she is really getting excited. She is just really moody, and one minute she is great then, wham, you don't know what you did wrong. I keep hoping for the best.

So, I was thinking a day in March. I would have to request whatever day we pick off. Would a Saturday or Sunday be best, or would a weekday be better? Where could we go? Chicago, or maybe Galena? I like the idea of Galena, there are some great shops there, and great restaurants.

Sarah,
I hope Becc's appointment went Ok. Being in the first trimester , living in the barracks and waiting for new orders has got to be hard.I remember when Marisa was going thru transition, betwen the stress and her hormones going crazy she wasn't the most pleasent person to talk too.Thank God thats over LOL.

The spring sounds great for a meet & greet. I'd be glad to help with it.

Take care

Gretchen,
Becca has her ob/gyn appointment today. Then, she will be going back to live in the barracks until she can get her allotment for housing. She is having problems with some of her roommates.

I am trying to plan a meet and greet for illinois moms. I saw your post on the discussion. I am not sure when to do it, I have a lot going on in the next couple of months. I am hoping to have it in the spring.
