Hi Donna-

I am glad Nate left week before or he would've got stuck!! Looks like it may be icy going back. Our minister, who also was in the NAVY , used to live in Hunington MD and told Nate to travel the south route back to DC area, so I think he will take his advice.
Just glad hes here and we are enjoying some time together until we go out there this spring.

Glad Tim is settling in , that is good to hear. I hope he has a nice Christmas and you too!

Hi Michelle,
It looks like Tim will be able to come into town for Christmas, even if only for the day. But you never know, it could change.
Did Nate make it home okay?
I haven't talked to my son since Saturday night, when they had about 15 inches on the ground and it was still snowing. He was out running around with a couple of other guys so I guess he is making friends already. I am glad to hear it.

Thanks Donna-
I think it will be alright If he leaves early 26, he should follow it. Just depends.
Will your son be at Pax for the Holidays? Nate was last year. It was different adn of course I missed him. but a lot of the CO's had parties, etc. and invited him. I alwys told him to thank them. I appreciate it.
Also I did the blue candle lighting and took the candle to family gatherings.
Have a bunch of my girls at my house right now!! Oh my!!
Need to keep pluggen' away with Christmas Plans

Hi Michelle,
I hope Nate can get on the road before Saturday. I just check weatherunderground and it looks like they are supposed to get snow on Saturday and some on Sunday too.

I know what you mean. When I first started N4M some of the moms I met were my sons buddies at boot camp (one an actual bunk mate.) about six months ago a My son saw the other guy at the mess hall at Pax that was buddies with. Etc. Etc. I have co workers whose sons were at Pax, etc., etc. Like you said small world!!!

Anyway, looks like they are getting a winter storm. I hope that the weather is clear for Nate to get back after Christmas.
Have a good evening everyone.

Hello Michelle,
My son is a AZ (Aviation Admin). I believe he said right now he is an Airman recruit. I'm still learning the ropes. :) My husband was in the service, Navy, when we met. We married in 1986 and he got out in 1993 so it isn't all new to me but it has been a while.
I think Tim is going to like Pax. So far, overall, the Navy has been a very wise choice for him. And, as a Mom, I take great comfort knowing that they will great care of him.
Your right about them possibly meeting up. I have found that the Navy world appears to be a small world. When my son was at boot camp I was talking to a co-worker at my part time job. She asked me where he was and then she said, "Really? My son is stationed at Great Lakes! What his is name, maybe they know each other." I told her that there were ALOT of people at Great Lakes so I doubted they knew each other but anyway she asked her son. It turned out that her son was one of Tim's RDC's. When Tim found out that I connected to his RDC's Mother he "freaked out." It was so funny. He was telling me NOT to tell her anything about him. I didn't, other than the superficial things but we all thought it was pretty wild that it worked out like that.

Hi Donna,
Glad to hear yor son has arrived. Hope he gets settled and has opportunity to meet some buddies before long. He might as well enjoy shore duty. It is a nice transitision if he hasn't been away from home a lot before he goes abroad. Any way, I hope the best for him.
What is his rate? My son is a Master of Arms at Pax
My son is home for 2 weeks leave for Christmas and back to PAX 'to patrol thethe base. Never now , they may meet up!!!

Hi again,
Our son Tim, checked in to Pax, yesterday morning. When he called to to let me know that he had arrived safely he seemed pretty happy but he did say that he thinks he will get spoiled being on shore duty first.

I agree the mini trips are a must. My daughter loves to go look around. Making lots of freinds helps also. Hope every one has a great Holiday. Hopefully we will get to see our son soon. He will be coming back to his duty station from Iraq from his year deployment. Love the military we know he will be home but not when he will be home yet.

Hello everyone-
Havent been on for qite awhile- good to see some new people have joined this group. My son has been at Pax a year, and he has said the same things. It was nothing like mid west, so it is a big shock . It is still not his favorite area to be at, but he has made a network of friends and that has helped tremendously. I know he has met some people cuz I talked to them on them her (Allison, Scott) etc. and it has helped his spirits. I think the key is getting connected, and planning time to go on mini trips, etc. Best of luck to all of your loved ones on adjustment.
