Funny comments - I get choked up 50 times a day just thinking about all this stuff! Actually, my husband is going to be pinning his wings on to my son's uni, so I will be blood-free! Maybe we can pre-drill holes in his uniform the day before :)

My son is out doing deck certifications on the Abe Lincoln. Since it has been in drydock since spring and expected to go out on deployment later this year, they have to get the deck certified. I guess that they do emergency proceedures, like a nosegear that won't come down/a tail hook that won't retract, parking planes, etc. I'm a nervous wreck. I can't imagine how I'll be when deployment comes. If I don't know what he is doing day to day, I'm fine but when I know something is coming up..... nuff said. Newfmom, welcome to the group. You are going to have a fun ride. As DJ said, just be patient. Most of time the SNA don't know what is coming up and get tired of moms asking. Trust me I know!!!! We are out of training, but it is fun to keep up with what is going on now. I didn't get into the group until my son was out of training and into a squadron so most of what I see here has already been experienced. Good luck.

S.E.R.E. stands for Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape,

With security clearance what they are it is recommended that photo's of your Military personnel not be posted.

Hi! My son has heard the same re: many pilots and he is a little worried about that. But we just told him to keep studying hard and rock that a/c each time he gets into it. He has not put his"dream sheet' in yet but his desire is jets.Always has been-always will be. So we pray. Anyway, today is his first "forms" flight and he was so excited when we spoke last night Wish I could say the same....you know "Moms nerves" I call it. But we smile, stay up and maintain great confidence in his ability. Thanks to all of you on the board!!!!!! Char
