Happy Easter an dHello to all-

I just joined this group through Navy For Moms. My son Brian is an MA stationed in Beaufort SC at the Navy Hospital. He just arrived there on March 9th. He likes it there, but says there is not much to do-it is a small base, he said that it is hard to make buddies there because MA's are not well liked. I think it is horrible to have such an attitude towards a fellow service member who is in it for the same reason as them. He bought a vehicle so now he can get out and about, and meet others. Thanks for the info on Blue Fridays-this is the first I have heard of it but will PROUDLY be wearing my Navy blue Navy shirt!!!
Peace to all and God Bless-Christine

I am so very sorry if i made u sad, that was never my intention to make anyone sad but to honor the Woodards and for the many sacrifices they have made to keep our country safe. They are 2 of the strongest people that we have ever known and will we always b there for them.7 years ago i was diagnosed with "Systemic Lupus". My family went thru allot. Having someone that is sick is very hard on a family but iam blessed to have a man that adores me (after 19 years( and i him) and our boys.I have trouble walking sometimes cause of hip problems and have to have shots and other joint related issues. Needless to say i am phsysically weak but mentally strong. The Woodards have reminded me that u can survive anything u just need to have faith and that i have plenty of. So please don't be sad ,their story is meant to uplift the spirit, Theirs really is a love story;) would luv to know how ur doing;) AND HI JULIE

Hi Julie we would gladly wear blue on friday and will ask my friends to join. I personally do not know of a single person that does not support our troops. If they r out there they r in the minority thats for sure. Would also like to mention a close family friend Crystal (26) who almost lost her husband Specialist Don Woodard(25), a soldier in the army, in a bombing in Iraq as he was driving an officer to her destination. The bomb exploded under passenger side instantly killing the officer but Don was blown out of the vehicle on fire. He was burned over 83% of his body and suffered 1st and 2nd degree burns. Having spent 10 weeks with this family at Fort Sam Houston Army Base in Texas while he was hospitalized was a learning experience for me and one that would change my families life forever. Don spent almost 4 months in intensive and almost died 3 times. Over all he spent almost 7 months in the hospital b for he came home. Thru it all his wife Crystal was by his side day in and day out in that hospital , while her mom vickie and i took turns caring for the babies so she could spend all the time she needed with him. I met so many wonderful supportive familys of the wounded and the staff at Brook Army Medcal Center were amazing. This hospital is Gods gift to the wounded and the staff r his angels. While families were grieving i grieved along with them. So much love among families that were suffering was just amazing to me and just when i thought i could'nt stand to see another injured young boy, just sitting in the presence of these families made me stronger.Thank u lord for giving me the honor of helping this family and for giving me the strength to keep going every day that i was in Texas. Don is ok but suffering from mental health issues ofcourse and many physical issues as well. They will b having a benefit for him in his home town of Gowanda NEW YORK May 3 2009 I will post a photo of his family a soon as i can. This family has been a blessing in my life and in honor of them i will always support all branches of our military. God Bless Them All:)

Let me know how many of you navy moms are into Farm Town, I could use some neighbors on my farm and another buddy list person to send farm animals and fruit trees to! LOL

Blue Fridays.

Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing blue every Friday.. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority' We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar, will wear something blue.. By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of blue much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the USA is covered in BLUE and it will let our troops know the once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on. The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is .'We need your support and your prayers.' Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear something blue every Friday

I don't know if there is actually a group called "Navy Families on Facebook" on Facebook, that's just the name here of the group of people that are also on facebook. Search for Navy Moms, Navy, Navy families, etc. and you'll find all kinds of groups where we hang out.

Happy belated Birthday to Eric! I haven't had a birthday with either of my sons since 2003, it takes time but you have to learn how to let go. That sounds like I'm not sympathetic, trust me I am. Until I found N4M's I thought I was unusual and was clinging to my boys but we all feel the same way and it's not the same if they go off to college or just move away from home. It's an extraordinary situation and ONLY another Military Mom can comprehend it! You have all made it SO much easier for me to learn this!
