Jan the ships and bases will probably be doing grief counseling for everyone involved. My son-in-law was diagnosed with post tramatic stress disorder because of the death of my son and then the same year his great grandmother died. I hope your soncan talk to someone.

I am worried for my son....this coming so soon after the loss of our David in Afghanistan. He is so good about keeping his emotions in check but i am afraid this is just to close to him and too soon.

Cindy, I am so saddened to hear about your step-daughter. Although we have never met, I want you to know you are in my thoughts. We lost our 18 year old son (my step-son) last Christmas Eve, and although the circumstances may have been different, the loss is the same. We too had to make the choice to remove Anthony from life support. It is nothing I would ever wish on anyone. I am here for you, and so are many others, as you can see. God Bless.

this is just alful. how heartbreaking. I will be calling my sailor today to see if she knows anything about this., those poor kids.

IS there any way someone can get the addresses of the families so WE NAVY MOMS can send flowers/cards? Please let me know...

The sailors are not being allowed to give out any information. My son has not given me the names only the little info about the injuries because the families still have not been notified. They cannot discuss it!

Only other news at this point.....the 20 yr old girl involved underwent 2 operations and was airlifted to Newport News hospital where she underwent another operation, but still don't know if families of the girl and other boy have been notified yet. My son is on duty til 8 tonight when i have asked him to call me and see if we know anything else yet. The other boy doesn't seem to be hurt as bad. They had gone out to celebrate either Zack's or the other boys birthday on Sat.

Ordy, as Jan said, as of last night, they hadn't released the names of the other two Sailors and there was nothing on FOXnews or the DOD casualty list. I assume there will probably be more information and stories released about the accident today. In the meantime, you can read and comment on this blog by Stacy R's friend Kate ( I already let them know that this Group was here standing by to support her):

Jan, please tell your son that our prayers are going out for him and his shipmates today!

Cindy my deepest sympathy for you and your family. My heart goes out to you and your family at this time. As for the 3 sailors from Norfolk, I called my son since the names of the other 2 had not been released yet and spoke to him. He said everyone is shaken up and that he works with one of them on the ship. They are in need of our prayers also!! I am grateful for this board so that we can support one another during time like these. I was thankful my son answered his phone tonight and could talk to me a bit about how they are all doing. My heart is breaking for all 4 families tonight.
