Bonus.....

Does anyone know who we talk to reguarding my son bonus he's been home since February 09" and no one knows anything about it. Is there some one we can call other than where he drills like Headquaters.

The drill weekend duty station should be able to tell him what is going on. They are the ones with the answers.
My son got his bonus like 3 months after he got out of "A" school which was in Jan. 2009. He had signed a paper saying he was deferring the bonus because he was hoping to go Active. But they ended up paying him anyways.
So your son needs to ask someone higher up maybe at the Reserve duty station.

Hi Doreen,
My son got home the middle of March 09 and just got his Bonus last week. He filled out paperwork when he reported at his duty station the day after arriving home. He was told it should show up mid month after his first duty weekend. Like clockwork, it did.
He just checked his balance at the ATM last week and there it was! He was one very happy Sailor. I must admit I was glad to hear it since I have read on the site that some people do have problems. I hope your son gets his straightened out soon. As far as I know it is just a form that needs to be filled out. Good luck.

Judy-Chris Mom: Do you know what form or paperwork it was? My son came home from A school same time yours did and so far nothing. He is about to get Deployed 6/26/09. I thought by now he would of had it before he leaves again.

well Doreen your son shld speak to the dispersing officer at his reserve station, most of the time they are not there on the weekend but you can always call them during the week, and they shld tell him what forms he needs to fill out and how long it would take to get to him, sometime when they come home from BC or A school the direct deposit stops and they have to fill that form out again, that is what happened to my daughter,..she graduated "A" school in Oct. 07 and got her bonus just before Christmas which was a blessing for her daughter..so just talk to the dispursing officer he shld be able to asst. him..

My son graduated in DEC, and still no bonus. He keeps calling them and they say they are working on it. Now the person who takes care on the bonus is on vacation. he tried someone else like a master chief, but still no definite answer.
He has signed all of the necessary paper work, too.
He is in the Navy reserve. He has a meeting this week.

My son is having the same problem about getting his bonus. He has asked them about needing to sign paperwork, but they told him there wasn't any ~ that it would be automatic after going to his first reserve weekend. I told him that on Navy 4 Moms that paperwork was mentioned, he asked me to ask if anyone knew what the form was. He spoke with them the last time he went and they looked into the computer system and told him nothing was there and to wait, they are not really helpful; so was wondering if anyone knew what form it was. Sharon- I just spoke to my son and asked him what he did to get his bonus. He said the first weekend at his Reserve Station he was given a piece of paper and was told it was for his bonus and to make sure he signed it, which he did. It arrived like clockwork in his paycheck. Sorry I can't give you more details about the form.It sounds like his Reserve Station should know about the form and should have him sign it, if he hasn't already.

He has asked his unit about signing paperwork and they told him they didn't have a form and it would come automatically. He is getting a bit frustrated. His recruiter is supposed to call them and find out what the problem is.

Sharon-has he been at his Reserve location more then twice. It took about two months for Chris to get his after he signed the paper. His Reserve location is in the Bronx, NY and it is one of the larger ones. Maybe they know more then the smaller ones. It is a shame that he has not gotten it. These Sailors uphold their end, so they should get that bonus in a timely manner. Keep me posted. Wish I could be of more help.

He did his second reserve weekend the first weekend in November; October was his first weekend. I guess we will wait until after the first weekend in December (that will be the third one) and see what happens. Will keep you posted and thanks for your advice.
