Melissa (Tuson) and Kara, (Breane's Mom) - I apparently lost my phone number for ship arrivals/departures but did some calling - it's 757-444-0000 - Hampton Roads Naval Information Center. Listen to the recording, as at first I thought I had a wrong number, select your option and then it's option 1. Good Luck!

Kathryn - You need to establish a code when he is not on the ship its much easier, although it sounds like it was fun & you had a chance to actually talk to your son. Your son's ship announces in advance where they are going ? hummm ...

Hey, I will be another passenger with Lori to Norfolk. I haven't seen my daughter for 12 mos. Just a note to the whole teacher testing thing, here in Oregon, they test in 3rd, 5th, 8th & 10th. The teachers say they spend the first half of the year preparing the kids for the test and the second half of the year actually teaching that years material. Also, now because of budget woes, they are actually making this school year shorter in the Dist. I am in by 12 days. Boy am I glad my "kids" are out of school. It is a real mess here. The state insists on all of these regulations but doesn't have the money to help the districts carry out the program.Francine,ROFL about the "code" Sue did somewhat the same thing, finally she just said, hey Mom wait a few hours and there will be an article on where we just were. so have fun fallowing my journey that way.

Thanks Francine. I actually got a call from Rob late the other night. It was so nice hearing his voice even if the connection was awful. He was struggling to figure out a "code" to tell me the date of the first port. It was funny cuz he goes "no, can't say that, um that won't work..." then he announced "it is 3 months and 7 days after Mick's birthday (his best friend) and we will be in the country where you were on your honeymoon with the rude people". Ha Ha All that and I get up the next morning and it is already on the website!!!

Guess the day got away from me ... trying to catch-up now.
Wow Teri, that tech to test thing is just like here in FL --- only teachers get their raises based on how well the kids do, so it may be worse here. They have to pass in 4th grade, in 7th grade & 11 grade.
Denise - I'd love that number too, we should just post it for everyone to call ... bet the moms (militant moms included, he he !) would burn-up those phone lines !
Will check back ...
