Hi Amanda, I think if you can find a Virginia group that lives closer to Norfolk. We are way North of Norfolk and as for me personally, I don't know the area to be able to answer your question. I am sorry. Can't you live on base? or is there a waiting list? The Norfolk Base may be able to tell you more. I wish I could have helped you more.

Hello Ladies~ I'm a Navy wife, my husband just got told where he is getting stationed and its Norfolk VA. I was wondering if anyone could recommend places to live there? We have 2 kids with one on the way...I'm due Dec 12th. Our oldest is 6 and he just started kindergarten, then our daughter is 2 and keeps me very busy! lol Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

Well, how cool is that! A Navy wife that only lives right down the road! Welcome. We are not a very busy group but as we gain more people perhaps that will change. BTW, I just love your name lol.

i'm about a 30 minute drive from Harrisonburg.. a little town called Staunton! My husband just graduated boot camp and is now in San Antonio, TX for his A school. I'm one proud wifey!! :D

Jessica, Thank you for your kind welcome to the group! I imagine I will be learning a lot and fairly quickly! I just can't believe our son is going off to school next month... wasn't he just starting kindergarten??

Hi there KP! We are a small group so far. I live about 2 hours away from Northern VA off of 81. N4Ms is indeed a wonderful place to connect with other moms. Suggest that you go and see all the different groups and start joining the ones that sound like fun. Before you know it you will have many friends here. Have a great 4th of July!!!

Hello! We live in Northern Virgina, our son is starting his freshman year at Rensselaer on NROTC scholarship, and this is all very, very new to me! I just discovered this site and think it's great! Where is everyone from?

We are very busy at our house until after May this year. Our grandchildren are getting older and we need to go to a First Communion, a Confirmation and a graduation this year. Whew! I am tired just thinking about all the travel involved. Sundays sound just fine with me though. Hey there Mitchell, would you enjoy getting together with us too? Do you have any suggestions?

Jessica, there really is "nothing" close to me. I really don't mind driving to Harrisonburg. It's not that far. This is the country, we all have to drive the same time and distance for good food, a shopping mall, doctors, etc.

I would like some imput from those that "were" coming on some dates that would be convenient. Just holler out some dates and let's see if we can get all get it right this time. lol Hey, my granddaughter and I loved the food and had a great time! No wasted time here. But she is now home in Colorado, so next time I will be waiting alone, my husband works every Sunday.

I am still looking forward to meeting you all and especially Jessica, since we came so close to being the only ones to meet. I do think that Sundays would probably be the best day and midafternoon the best time, it's after Sunday Church and b4 dinner. Easier on folks to make and not so crouded at restaurants.

Thank you Jessica for thinking so kindly of me, but I drive it all the time now. Actually I would prefer Harrisonburg to anywhere near here.

So, since the last time didn't work out very well, how about trying this again? Can anyone here think of a place that is closer to NavyIsHisLife so she won't have to travel as far?
