Oh my Gosh Nicknukemom....that pic of your little sailor...its so incredibly cute

Thanks it made me smile when I came across it. In my minds eye he is still that little man.

Nicknukemom - adorable picture!  Post it in the comments on the main nuke mom page so everyone can see it!

God Bless these sailors and recruits and their commitment to excellence!

Very cute picture!

Got my son's first letter.  There are 30 nukes in div 265, and many of them bunk in same corner.  They are making great friends in the NUKE section!

My son left for bootcamp last week for bootcamp and he's a NUKE.

Christie_Okie...Awesome,,,,more Nukes! Have you joined the 'Nukemoms' page?  You should get your letter in abt. a week.......

But, if you can't wait, call his recruiter!  He can tell you his ship and division

My daughter left for bootcamp on July 24th and is slated for Nuke School after. I haven't received the form letter yet. It's going to boyfriends apartment. : (  It would be better to come to a house address so there is no way to lose it by processing it. I'm ready with encouraging cards to send.

Hi, my daughter's PIR is Sept. 22 and then going to Charleston for Nuke School. I have read they go in the wee hours of the morning Saturday so get a hotel room at O'hare for them to relax if they have time. Anyone experience PIR & Nuke school in Charleston transition lately?

Htownmoma - go ahead and ask your question on the main page of the nuke moms group.  We have lots of moms whose sailors just recently (or are getting ready to) PIR'd.  We also have lots of us old timers who can chime in.....All the nukes go from Chicago to Charleston where they do A school and Power school.  Their final school - Prototype - can be in either Charleston (Goose Creek) or Ballston Spa, NY.  They most often leave in the wee hours of Saturday morning - out of either O'Hare or Midway - just depends on where the Navy gets the best flights from.  Sometimes they do stay an extra day and won't fly out until Sunday but you don't usually find out until PIR.
