While talking to my Sailor the other day he told me that the big test called "the widowmaker" will be on the day before Thanksgiving. I just thought that all the moms here would want to know so they could pray for all of our Sailors especially.
Just got off the phone with my boyfriend and he said that they will be sending the Power School grad invitations out in a week or two! How exciting is that!?! =D
I think this may be my son's date too. Jeanne i think we talked about this too. do you know where Zach is off too or should i say what choices they "might" be
My son just called and said he passed todays test. Now he is getting ready for another test this week and next weeks test the widowmaker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yikes

Dan pssed yesterday as well. Said Fri. covers alot of stuff. Chem, metals, and i don't remember what. I think he just takes a deep breath and sighs after he can check each of these off.
Obviously I can figure out why it is called the widowmaker but is it a comprehensive test or just tough material?
Mary,
Glad to see Dan is doing well, I have spoke with him a couple of times when he has been at Jason's apt. Jason is doing fine now but really misses his class but will join the new one on Monday. He still has his BBQ grill going for the guys from the old class and has them over as often as they can come. He has been getting ready to jump back in and hopefully still go to prototype with them. I hope Dan got his wishes for the surface fleet.
LeAnne, Zach has requested (or is requesting, I'm not sure!) NY for prototype. Two reasons that I'm aware of...1., he's not thrilled with the idea of going through another Charleston summer, and 2. he just would love to see other parts of the country. He said he should find out in the next week or two where he'll be sent.
Krista, that son of yours is SUCH a good kid! He always calls you. I wish some of that would rub off a little more on Zach! : )
Yeah me too.... I don't think I'd know about a lot of these tests if it weren't for Krista LOL.
Jeanne, where are you from that he thinks Charleston summers are rough??? I've lived in Florida now for 4 years and I love the heat... but then again a lot of people think that makes me strange... 8-). We're originally from Connecticut, and the humidity is much worse in the summer there than here in northeast FL... we've got some awesome ocean breezes keeping it down. I guess other parts of FL aren't so lucky.
Marybeth, Zach was born and raised in Michigan, so is much more accustomed to the cold! Summers can be humid, but not nearly as brutal as SC. My folks lived in Charleston when he was little, but he doesn't remember spending time there. I know what you mean about the humidity in the NE...I grew up on Long Island, and I think the summers there were really no different than what I remember when visiting my folks in Charleston.
Anyway, I'd love for him to be in NY...it's a much shorter drive for us to visit, and I've got a cousin who is only about an hour from Balston Spa, who would love to be able to see Zach.
