Wow Debbie - I will be praying for your son to get home safely. Do you have any idea how much farther he has to go?

Mamalain - Eric used to work for a Bonefish down in Littleton - I love that plave. And while I like the sea bass - I love the halibut when it isi in season.. I wonder if they serve SEA BASS to the sailors?

My son is stuck in WV - around Beckley - anyone know anything about the weather or road conditions. I guess 77 N is closed. He left GC yesterday afternoon, left Mt. Airy, NC today around 9:30 AM this morning and has been stuck for 3 hours in the same place. They just got off the interstate, but not sure where they are.

So glad to hear everyone's sailors are getting home safely despite the awful weather. MIne doesn't come home until Tuesday, so I assume all the delayed flights will be worked out by then. Mamalain, mine doesn't like to wear his uniform for me either, but I know he'll be in his dress blues to fly! We have to stop by Grandma's house on the way home from the airport so she can see him in uniform...never has, and I know once I get him home and he changes, he won't put it back on until he flies back to GC!! Hope everyone has wonderful holidays! Merry Christmas to all!!

Gail M....we live in Thornton. And I am happy for you that your son will be home for Christmas. I so agree, that they all look dashing in their dress uniform. My son won't wear it all the time for me, but enough to get some pictures. Take lots and MERRY CHRISTMAS

My son just arrived safely in Lexington, KY from GC SC. We spoke with him last night and he said they were moving about 3 miles per hour in parts of NC. I am so thankful he made it ok!

I was in Atlanta airport coming home yesterday from working in Austin and saw 4 of our sailors and I kept wondering who they were and did I know their Mom on Navy Mom's. One was trying to get home to Tampa, FL.

Mamlain - I am in Colorado too - we live in Littleton! I am anxiously awaiting my son coming home today. He is just a little bit behind your son - he is about half way through Power school. He drove from GC to Atlanta last night and will be flying out tonight. He was hoping to fly stand-by on an earlier flight, but it is not looking promising. I told him to just keep smiling and looking handsome in his dress blues!

To all of you here - a very Merry Christmas! Your sailors will be in my prayers and I will be lighting my blue candle for all of you whose sailors cannot be home.

My son finished A school this week - Yea!!! Congratulations to all the sailors who have moved up to another level. We'll be so glad to have him home for a little while over Christmas. On to power school in January!

My sailor called just after midnight to say he was stopping for the night in Pell City, Alabama. I haven't talked to him yet today, but that leaves him with nearly 8 hours of road time, but he is south and west of the weather now, so he should be fine.

Merry Christmas from Colorado. and Ballston Spa, NY (that is where my son is stationed)....he is in his 2nd week of prototype. All settled in off base housing in Clifton Park. I am happy to say that he and his family are excited to be hosting a Christmas Eve party at their home. And although I am wishing he could be home with us, I am proud to know that he will be sharing some Christmas blessings with some other sailors who must remain in New York.
Safe travels to those going home for the holidays. Give your sailor a special hug ..........God Bless you all
