Well, just got home from Charleston after a whirlwind tour - flew up Th night, had a late dinner with my sailor (no curfew) and his brother, then early morning at NNPTC for graduation (long line of traffic, and we were 40 mins early!), then a moving ceremony (they let family get right up to the podium and yell!), then dinner at Anson's, then an early flight home to SAT.  Pshew!  We're beat but happy, and have him home for 10 days.  Now he's with his three best friends from since 6th grade. Happy, happy, happy.

I hope he does. He's going into it with a good attitude and is excited to be there. Btw, for some reason my picture has changed to that belonging to FTLW...it's not my picture, lol. Not sure how to fix it.

Sunshine66 -- Welcome to the Nuke group.   I hope  your Sailor love GC as much as mine does.  It's been one of the best decision he's made.  At least it seems so right now.  I hope it continues to go so well.

Navymombrokenandsad we talked to my son today and mentioned what had happened and he said that if you son hasn't been in trouble there is a strong liklihood that he won't be kicked out of the program.  My son said that they post the Captain's Mast cases and the punishments as a threat to everyone else and that unless your son was very early in the program or had been in a lot of trouble that he most likely would be okay.   I hope he was right.   Even though it was a bad decision...young men make a lot of impulsive decisions as do young women and I would hate for it to ruin his career. It would be better if it changed the direction of his life in a very positive way and that he could make a difference in the life of Americans by serving his full enlistment doing what he's been trained to do.  Praying for a good outcome for you.

Hello All, my new Sailor just arrived in Goose Creek! Excited for him but very nervous mom. He is an MM and said classes start the 18th.

We drove down to GC last night to take our son his car - that's a fun 4 hour drive! It was wonderful to see him, even if it was only to stand in a parking lot and talk to him for an hour and then head home.

I've been worrying about him, I have to admit.  He's a lot like me, which means he puts everything he has into what he's doing and gets tied up in knots if things aren't going the way he thinks they should.  The fact that he asked us to bring his trumpets to him was a huge encouragement to me.  I think he's happier right now than he's ever been, and that's why he's interested in his music again.

I got some good news today too.  My son is just starting school (EM).  He just completed week 2, and said that he has a 3.45gpa, and that he is now on 2 & 10 for studying.  He said that only 5 out of his class scored higher then him. He sounded very upbeat, and said that the instructors are really good there.

I got some good news today!  Aaron not only passed the PT test to phase up, he just called to let us know he was going from Phase I directly to Phase III!  We're taking him his car tonight...along with his trumpets.  He's so excited!

So sorry Emily! I think it must be effecting my sailor because his hours just keep getting worse and now his stand down is looking grim. I swear one sailor works the job for at least two or three now!
