For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

(We have very little communication between us - while he's in Nuke school, I'm in grad school - both really busy). I try to take a few minutes now and then to "figure out" what life is like for him (and his wife).

Comment by Dodie on March 2, 2013 at 10:29am: My son is an EM on the USS Jacksonville. He likes his job. He's pretty busy working on his Div quals now. He is doing the STAR reenlistment during this deployment, but we don't get to talk to him while he's out in the deep blue sea. My DIL keeps me posted when she is able to talk to him. She emailed him last week with big news, but we have no idea when he'll receive the message. I would love to see his face when he finds out they're expecting twins...lol.

He also enlisted Sub Vol. He worked tirelessly before and during his first
deploy and received his Fish upon completing his first deploy. He worked
his butt off and was a good deal thinner upon his return. All because it
is important to him. He likes it and he is very good at what he does. If it is
in their belly, they will find a way to see it through. He has never uttered a
negative word.

Comment by MN Mom of MM on March 1, 2013 at 7:32pm: Welcome to all our newcomers, or/and stalkers. My sailor just started his deployment on the USS Eisenhower. And yes I think all through the schooling process, momma here was more stressed than sailor boy. He seems to like what he is doing and where he's at. My suggestion is to feed them the positives. Praise, and encourage them everyday.

Comment by Betsyleebig on March 1, 2013 at 5:42pm: My son also was a MM3 when he started Power school too ( ate too much) but took the exam and was an MM4 when the exam was offered.. I think the exam are 2x /yr.
