We live in Asheville and are to get 12-16 inches of snow intermixed with rain/freezing rain. It started early this morning and is to continue until Sunday. The Asheville forecast will probably only impact those going to Western NC and possibly KY and TN since I-40 is closed near the NC-TN state line. I think the snow is to travel along I-85 and I-40 in NC. Hopefully, they will let our sailors out early this afternoon! I wish you all Christmas blessings and pray that your loved ones arrive home safe and sound.

JessicaS - thanks for the posting, I will be thinking about all our sailors coming home (and the ones who end up staying in SC) and hope they stay safe and dry and warm. (and pray not too many roads are closed and not to many flights are delayed) Please keep us posted (for those of us on the west coast who'll only hear of it after the fact =)

May everyone have safe travels this weekend and wonderful reunions with their loved ones! Merry Christmas!

I'm going to post this even though it may cause some concern. From what I understand there is going to be a major snow/sleet/rain (depending on where and the temperatures) on the East coast later on today. Please pray for all our Sailors who will be traveling later on their way home for Christmas. Mine will be driving home and from the looks of it will be driving right through it all. Up here where we live in VA they are closing schools early today already even though they aren't expecting it to start here until around 6pm. I remember last year this happened in the middle of the country. I guess this year it is the East coast's turn. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

PIR = Pass In Review (that's graduation for us civilians!) The call after Battlestations came for me about 10:00 at night, so just expect it anytime.
