Since the facebook group is a "secret" group, you can't see it until you are a member. You will have to be added by a facebook friend who is a member, the administrator is probably the best contact if you don't know anyone else yet...Emilyyyyyyy...

Dor and Amanda- Thanks for the advice :)

Sean is also an over achiever... and I (and i think he) are both trying to take things slow and be very guarded in this delicate balance of the Navy and life. wish me luck as we take it one day at a time :)

I also include, in care packages, chewable vitamin C, a bug bite stick, a new toothbrush and toothpaste, good razors and refills when they are on sale and I have a coupon, cups of Chili, Easy Mac cups, and other microwavable dinners that they can just keep on hand in case they miss chow time, which my son misses a lot with his therapy appointments.  Like Connie said, I know he can go buy them, but it makes me feel good to send him a few things every now and then, but I really don't do it too often.  Mine also wanted tea because he said the coffee is really getting to him from drinking so much, so he has been laying off the coffee and he doesn't hardly drink soda at all.  He likes vitamin water, powerade, etc.

becciquilter, RE: care packages ... I've been sending coffee, granola/power bars, tea bags, magazines (car, Popular Mechanics, sport, Time, Natl Geographic etc), tins of almonds, altoids mints, oh yeah, Readers Digest, foil-tuna, Easy Mac cups.... sure, they can buy all this stuff themselves at Target or Walmart, but who doesn't like to get a nice package once in a while?? Use priority flat rate boxes, usually but not always cheapest.

Maddie, you can use MM3 Firstname Lastname on the banner since you are not addressing a piece of mail.  You only need to put last name first on an envelope.

For example "MM3 John Smith" would be fine on your banner.  Good luck with it!  It sure will be great to see them won't it?

Dodie (PS Aug) my son is also starting Power School on the same date.  He told us during his last visit home that he was told that they should be able to take leave during the holiday down time and then again in February when they graduate.  However, they likely won't have enough time on the books for both leaves.  So, he had to make a decision which one to take.  I requested him to come home at Christmas, thinking that we would go back to GC to see graduation.  Not sure if this is what he will actually decide to do, but I wanted to put my two cents in.

Thank you, William!

So how does it go?  MM3 LastName, FirstName? I thought a banner would embarass him a bit. :)

Congrats on your son also!  I can hardly wait for when he arrives home on Saturday!
