Thank you to each and every N4M who has rallied around Todd and I during this huge bump in the road. Your letters paid off and his appeal now has the attention of 2 senators and 2 members of congress. Thank you, Thank you.

We are a long way from winning the appeal so if you think of Todd please send up a prayer on his behalf. I will keep you posted on the outcome.

I know we're past the recruiting stage here, but kinda neat to watch one of the Navy's newest videos, with a different perspective now...all the different jobs, etc. Like, don't we have several here with kids going to subs?

just found this website - has a little about graduation, but anyone with a sailor staying at GL, just an interesting tidbit on activities they set up for those staying.

Off topic (kinda sorta...but still related, haha, since it's Navy!)

My son in law is currently deployed as a Navy SeaBee -

His unit's Family and Readiness (not sure that's the exact title) group just had their monthly get-together, held at Southwest Airlines' HQ in Dallas.

AWESOME! My daughter and her 18 month old son had a wonderful time, and the kids were adopted...and the other family members came home with a lot of loot, LOL. Unreal, really!

KUDOS to Southwest Airlines and others who donated to support the family members of the SeaBees unit!!!!!!! As a mom-in-law, mother and grandmother of family members affected by the deployment, I'm so touched.

Katsfancy, wow just reading that sent chills up my body. I guess your right about seeing them b4 ceremony. I know i'd breakdown and start crying. I wouldn't want to put him thru that.
Tina thanks for the extra info, anything and everything helps. Esp the part about coffee. I drink a pot in the morning. Wont that morning!!!

I just came across so this box in my Christmas stuff. It is filled with some interesting items. I wanted to share with everyone.

In the box was:

Rubber Band
Tissue
Button
Toothpick
Band-aid
Candy
Gold Thread
Eraser
Life Saver

Along with the items was a letter that reads:

Merry Christmas

Did you wonder? Did you ponder?
What do these contents have to do with me?

Well, here’s why YOUR care package contains these items…

Rubber Band: to remind you of hugging – the times you want to give a hug or you want to receive one.

Tissue: to remind you to dry someone’s tears (or perhaps your own) so you can see the tears of others.

Button: to remind you to “button your lips” to keep from saying mean things about others or talking when it is not appropriate.

Toothpick: to remind you to “pick out” the good qualities of
everyone – including you.

Band-aid: to remind you of healing hurt feelings, either yours or someone else’s

Candy: to remind you that everyone needs a nice treat occasionally.

Gold thread: to remind you that friendship is the golden thread that ties together the hearts of everyone.

Eraser: to remind you that everyone makes mistakes sometimes and that it all right.

Life saver: to remind you to think of JESUS as your “life saver”.

I think that Katsfancy pretty much said it all. I just want to add that we also drove our car and had no problems getting there and on to the base. The only thing I want to say is, go early. We left our hotel around 10 after 6 and there was already a long line. They have designated sections for your divisions. You may NOT want to sit in the first few rows as you will be at eye level with the Sailors. You may have a better chance of being able to see him/her if you are sitting up in the bleachers a little. And bring binoculars, they stand in such straight lines...I've heard that it was hard to spot your Sailor. I was fortunate, my Sailor was in the flag division and at one point he was right in front of me. Oh...don't drink too much coffee...It's a little difficult to get up as the bleachers are full of people. Not to long for you guys now...hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. : )
